The EEtackle oscilloscope probe holder was designed out of frustration with probing printed circuit boards. I was tired of soldering short little wires onto PCBs, just to be frustrated by bent or worn-out probe tip hooks. I wanted a way to position a probe quickly and accurately on a PCB and have it stay in place. The key is the smooth operating and easily locked ball joint near the clamp head. Plant the base of the probe holder firmly on the bench with one hand while positioning the probe exactly where needed with the other hand. A quick twist of the thumb screw with the planted hand locks the ball joint in place. The weight of the holder combined with the three-point contact keeps it in place.
