The shield arrived as expected.

For Elelabs Zigbee Raspberry Pi Shield

I received the shield as expected ( no delay). I have followed the installation instructions as provided. I am new to openHAB and the Raspberry Pi. It is not working as it should (it won't go online). I have sent 2 emails to Elelabs support but as yet they haven't responded. Not too sure if I'd recommend this device.

Won't recommend with Home Assistant. Team doesn't respond.

For Elelabs Zigbee USB adapter

Bought this a while ago to use with Home Assistant.
Device looks solid and shipping was fine.
However, it doesn't work very well with Home Assistant. Some devices, especially Xiaomi temperature multi sensor, motion sensor, have troubles pairing or don't work reliably after pairing.
The link to demo app on their page is dead. I emailed multiple times about the sensor problems and dead demo app link, but didn't get any response over the past half year.

Instead, I would recommend to buy the Conbee dongle from Dresden Electronics. Works well and the team is very responsive.

Regretful purchase

For Elelabs Zigbee USB adapter

I have spent countless hours trying to get this working - to no avail! I've been on the reddit and hass forums, I've tried multiple Raspberry Pi's and multiple SD cards. It. Will. Not. Work!

Worst of all, I've tried communicating with the Elelabs team, and have had zero response. Nothing. Nada.

Interestingly, I see that they no longer sell these as they will be creating some new ones in 2019? I'm hoping that the new ones are much, MUCH better.

Buy at your own risk. This one was a dud.

Home Assistant and Elelabs ZigBee Raspberry Pi Shield

For Elelabs Zigbee Raspberry Pi Shield

Hi,

i bought the shield and installed it following the instruction provided by elelabs. I am using Home Assistant in the latest version and i tried pairing a OSRAM Smart Plug and a Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor without success.

On 17.12.2018 i've sent an email to info@elelabs.com and did not receive any answer yet. I am getting the following error while pairing:

Compact and simple device that does the job well

For Elelabs Zigbee Raspberry Pi Shield

This little 10 GPIO hat might be a little more minimalist and less polished than RaspBee, but I got it at least $10 cheaper.

The documentation gave the basic idea of how to set it up although I ended up using Home Assistant instead of Hass.io
The Raspbian image I was using gave permissions errors in the logs when trying to use ZHA, but I managed to work around this by
removing the option `console=serial0,115200` using sudo editor /boot/cmdline.txt

Aside from that I'm very pleased that the device works so seamlessly that I'll probably forget I have it ;)
