Unique board
For Arduwire UNO Cable Tester Shield for Arduino
I purchased 3 of these boards to perform QC checks on automotive wire harnesses and cables my company manufactures.
Similar shields and testers do exist for testing RJ45's or similar cables but I needed something capable of testing a greater number of connections. This one worked flawlessly and features very common 16-pin IDC connectors. I modified generic IDC flat ribbon cables to interface with my own harness creating a "test cable". The shield can "learn" and program itself but joining together the test cables. The documentation from the Eridevices site was clear enough and I was able to use it to trigger a secondary test in my workflow. LED and buzzer JST 2.54mm headers are present on the board. I created a nice 3d-printed enclosure, a nice I2C LCD and buzzer to create a robust cable testing solution for my company.
Overall this is a unique board of which I cannot find a similar product on the market. If I were to criticize the product, I will say that once the board is integrated into an enclosure, it becomes difficult to mate and demate the test cables as the cable latches do not protrude far enough from the shield. IDC cables are also cumbersome in my specific application. I am hoping this product can be offered with different I/O in the future, such as screw terminals which would be better for my custom integrations.

Thanks, it is very appreciated your comments. Let me takes notes for the new development board design for arduino or maybe raspberry pi.
