Don't expect to use it has a lidar ;( or on moving object ..

For Laser Rangefinder Module V2 (20Hz/80M)

Received the LRF few weeks ago

It start and receive command , also to the measurement in single and auto mode


BUT !!!

Each time the object the laser point at , is moving , the LRF loose it's mind , and make a huge pause between measurement , it does even stop the laser during 2 seconds

It is totally unable to measure something moving ... if the distance change too fast or surface type ;; the laser loose ...

Really disapointed , i hope it's a firmware error ..

( Tested it with multiple serial/usb cable and multiple PSU to be sure to give it enough power .. )

Hello dear Stephane!

The "LIDAR option" is just a partial function of this module because the main purpose of this LRF Module is taking some accurate measurements with high-speed sampling!

Using the LRF Module as a "LIDAR" is not perfect at this moment & it's not so responsive in a quick interruption & distances change... & it needs to be used carefully!
I will also try to solve this issue with the manufacturer & provide them this feedback to fix it asap in the next versions!

I'm sorry again for this bad experience with py product :(

5 Hz is not good for project control

For Laser Rangefinder Sensor V1 (5Hz/40M)

I need a sensor above 20 or 30 Hz, 5 Hz is not good for my project!

I didn't see what the frequency is low !

The laser ranger finder code made for Arduino doesn't work without entering several extra command lines, and yet I'm having trouble getting it to work. Would you like to help me? But first I would like to have confirmation from you if this program that is available has not been improved or if it has a new version. If so, know from you if it works for all versions ...

Sorry to hear that the 5Hz LRF V1 Module wasn't good for your project :( But i think you could choose ths 20Hz LRF V2 module instead for your projects because it's faster that the LRF V1 (5Hz) that you can find on this link https://www.tindie.com/products/10355/

Awesome Laser

For Laser Rangefinder Sensor V1 (5Hz/40M)

The laser is awesome. It works with the Arduino mega which I need to use for my application. The distance tests I did were within the documented specs.

Excellent Product

The product is excellent, shipping was a bit long tho, 6-8 weeks I would say. Precision is on point!

Great product!

For Laser Rangefinder Sensor V1 (5Hz/40M)

The Laser Rangefinder sensor worked well when we tested it. We are using it in a prototype platform, fit with mecanum wheels. The aim of our project is to test autonomous logic with the help of this sensor. We bought this since all other types were out of stock, and we were lucky enough to get this sensor from tindie. It would have been more helpful, if we had received some instruction as to how to interface the components provided-time required to find it set our project back by a day or two. However, we did interface it, and we got the readings using the manual sent by the seller. Overall, i would recommend this to anyone!
