i wonder if it is possible to buy only the breakout board without OLED, because i've got a few of those already

Sorry that you have not been able to get it working with the ipad app. When it was designed and put on Tindie the IOS app was not released. I too was disappointed to not be able to get my display working with the IOS app. I've just added this note to the product page and I will refund your money with shipping. Really cool clock, but could use a bigger display

Great clock, great communication. Mike is great to work with!

My three requests would be :
1. Make a beeper or other alarm (since my son wants to use it for his bedside clock)
2. Have a larger display option
3. Use Micro USB instead of mini. Mini cables are getting hard to come by.

I'll probably modify mine for these things at some point.

Great little screen. Easy to use.

This is a great little screen. Had it hooked up in no time. I had to google for some example code. After that it was easy to do whatever with it. Communication by the seller is great. He knows his stuff :)

Great little display PCB

For 0.96" OLED SPI Display (3.3V - 5.0V)

Never used one of these before, ordered, delivered with ease. Pin header soldered on and had demo code up and running on the Raspberry Pi in less than five minutes.

Now I need to conceive some interesting projects but first thing I wanted was to know the Pi's IP address at startup. Done with ease.

Cool discussion piece for the bookshelf

For 1.5" OLED Color Display w/MicroSD (3.3V - 5.0V)

An incredibly small and cool device that can fit anywhere. I have two bits of feedback for the designer:
1. The ball should move across the screen once per second... currently it's once every 5 or so seconds
2. The player on the receiving end already moves into the correct or wrong position as soon as the opponent sends it back. It would be more realistic if the paddles bounced around a bit and landed at the right/wrong spot just before the ball hits it.

Both of these points could be due to the slow processor that couldn't handle the calculations.

Awesome product

Great breakout! I like the way the pins are located at the top of the screen (personal preference). Receiving header pins with the board is very nice too.
The board design is very good, although I'd like to see the screen wrap around the board and have the microSD socket opening next to an edge.
I suggest the seller to keep selling the version without an SD socket.

Perfect

The displays were delivered quick and well packed. The screen is gorgeous. I like the fact, that this "shield" is a pure display and not packed with other things like SD card holders. Keeps it simple and well priced ;-)

Great little clock

I have been on the look out for a bedside clock for a long time, and now I have found one that I really like.
I love that its open source and programmable, so if I get bored with the pong, I can change it.

The design is great, and the PCBs themselves are of excellent quality.

Mine included an FDTI header and a small USB cable.

No complaints here!

Glad you like the PongClock. It was a fun project and a new one with a few tweaks is in the works. The new one will have the buttons on interrupt pins so setting the time will be more responsive. Possibly tiny right angle pushbuttons may happen as well.

Excellent!

I'd received the kit with one of the new blue displays and it's awesome. The brightness is perfect and that blue characters give it a very cool looking.
It came without the headers for programing, but, in my opinion, is the only "bad" thing to note.

Finally: it arrives in less than 2 weeks, which, for an overseas packaging that involves customs handling, is fast.

Glad you like the clock. It was a fun project.To get the pongclock code onto the board I have an FTDI board with male pins on it. I slide it onto the pongclock board, program it and then slide it off. The programming pins are left beautiful gold and look untouched. If others are interesting in reprogramming the clock then I should start including a header. I wasn't sure if I should include a header, solder a female connector in place or just leave it bare.

Super Fab

I bought both voltages of these OLEDs and firstly, it was shipped so fast (I'm in the UK) that I was surprised when they arrived! They were so easy to set up and the display is really crisp. The only slight thing is they are a little hard to mount into my project and I'm still not sure I've got a good way to do it so if anyone has ideas of how they have used them that would be great. Really pleased and will be ordering more to play with!

You can add any size lipo battery you want but I set the charger for the smaller 200 mAh type. Charging a large battery will just take a little while.
