Functional and affordable

This is a straightforward build that someone with a little experience could easily tackle.

If you use a regular, shrouded 10-pin Eurorack power connector, instead of a right-angle one, the notch faces the faceplate - don't get confused by the silkscreen.

Make sure you can source a legitimate NE5517N or LM13700 before purchasing, as the DIP version is getting harder to find.

Suggested improvements:
- Reduce the panel side of the board about 1mm so the panel rests on the jacks not the board edge.
- Use a larger footprint for the through-holes so it's easier to solder, especially on pads to ground, as it's hard to keep the iron tip off the ground plane.
- Use a 16-pin power connector so that 5V is available for DC offset calibration. Put an easily-broken trace from 5V to each CV input. Add test points for ground and the VCA outputs. This will help people perform the calibration.

Cool sequencer well featured pack!!!

I bought 2 of this modules as a DIY kit a few weeks ago as a special package, the deliver was quick and communication with the seller was great!!

Now the build is quite straight up and the documentation is good and help on every stage of the setup, now the build itself can be quite challenging specially when your mounting knobs buttons jacks and Leds cause there is a few components located in some really tight spaces but nothing but nothing impossible to achieve.

Now the sequencer itself it is well implemented in terms of controls, play modes and is a breeze to operate, sequences go quite stable, and it is pretty cool and straight forward (as a suggestion play a melody with one sequencer and use a second for modulation and god damn you have techno for days!!!)

So go ahead and get a pair of this modules they work as a charm!!!!

Great oscillator for a massive sound

For 8080 VCO (Eurorack PCB Set)

Stacked 2 of these on top and it sounds great. First tuning after building can be a little slow but after that, the payoff is great. Definitely recommend getting one or more of this oscillators.

Instant Fat!

For Chorus (Eurorack PCB Set)

A great sounding module. It makes a single oscillator sound like many. The build is straightforward, there are no exotic parts, and even though the (clear and well-written) documentation specifies that an oscilloscope is required for calibration, I was able to get pleasing results by ear. As Duke Ellington said, "If it sounds good, it is good." And it sounds very good.

Note: The panel appears purple in the picture listed. While I wasnt picky about it, I am glad I received a black one. I'd imagine you can ask the seller to confirm the color if you need. good experience

For Slew (Eurorack PCB Set)

This slew module was the first Eurorack DIY project of mine that required soldering SMD components. I was a little intimidated tbh, but the detailed instructions were easy to follow and I did my best to solder the SMD components with a fine tip soldering iron. However, when I powered on the module, it did not function as expected. John from PM foundations was extremely communicative and helpful in troubleshooting the module over email, and with his help, we determined that I had managed to incorrectly solder a few of the components (including one of the ICs). As SMD ICs are difficult to replace, and I don't have much experience in replacing them, John offered to fix the module and send it back to me. I sent the module to him and received it back in perfect working order about 1 week later. Can't thank him enough. The support John provides re: PM foundations modules is top-notch, and he goes the extra mile to help work through issues and ensure your DIY build is a success. I bought more PMF modules because of the good experience.

State Machine - A+ Product

Not your average envelope! Use as an ADSR EG or Wavetable LFO, and send outgoing gate signals at the onset and end of each envelope stage. Slick design and enjoyable DIY build. With only a few eurorack DIY kit projects under my belt to date, this project was perfect for my experience level. Well documented - with detailed instructions, pictures, and contextual information. The documentation contains a link for a Mouser shopping cart, which I really appreciate and highly recommend using - it greatly simplifies sourcing components for the build. When I purchased components, some of the items in the Mouser shopping cart were out of stock, but there are typically lots of options within Mouser for each type of component (some in stock and some out of stock), so I used the search function on Mouser to find analogous parts that were in stock and available. A big thanks to John and PM Foundations for a great product. One of my favorite modules in a small but growing system.

Classic CEM Sound In Eurorack

For 3320-VCF (Eurorack PCB Set)

An easy, straightforward build (worked perfectly on the first try!).It sounds fantastic, the same smooth, round tone you'd expect from a classic Pro-One, with the added bonus of voltage controlled resonance. It's already a mainstay in my Eurorack setup. I'm hoping it gets some company from other CEM based designs, like oscillators and envelope generators.

Don't hesitate, buy it!

Easy build, handy utility

This is an easy build and a good utility to have. I just built four of them, one for the main rack, one for the secondary rack, actually to help me interface some old ARP synthesizers, and a couple of spares that I'll use when I free up a bit more space. Also a great intro to SMD.

Great piece of kit

For ADSR Envelope Shaper (Eurorack PCB Set)

I ran into an issue building this and Mr. PM was able to diagnose it quickly. (I also discovered I have 6.8k resistors in my 68k drawer!)

Overall a great module, low part count, and easy to build. I bought 3 for all my envelope shaping needs!

Versatile value

I got the PCB and face plate kit, and ended up ordering the components myself. This was a nice intro to DIY Eurorack.
I like the layout, and this module packs a lot of value at having two VCAs for the price of one. The assembly was straightforward, although the DIY kit implies that you already have the equipment needed to solder/test/calibrate your module. I would not advise this unless you already have some basic electronics skills.
The VCA is easy to use and is versatile in function. It goes well with the other modules I've put together from PMFoundations.

Good starter module

For Voltage controlled sequential switch (PCB Set)

After much online research, I decided on the 3080 VCO as my starter oscillator for getting into Eurorack and building my first modular system.
I really liked the simple layout and look of the kit. However, I took it one step further and sourced the majority of parts myself. This ended up saving me a bit of money rather than just going with the suggested BOM by PMFoundations, but I would caution those who are starting from scratch that this is a complicated task and if you are not familiar with electronics and parts and such, you can easily order the wrong version of components and end up spending even *more* money when you have to purchase the correct (assigned) parts.
The assembly instructions are straightforward, but again this DIY kit implies that you have the necessary equipment needed to build/test/tune the module yourself. That being said, I had a good time putting together the parts, soldering everything together and got the thrill of hooking it up for the first time and getting sound!
This VCO is well rounded, having a basic Sine, Triangle and Square wave output. This makes it well suited for a variety of roles, from an LFO timer, to a modulation signal, to just a pure tonal generator. I am still exploring all that this VCO can do.
I ordered a pair of these kits (PCB and face plate only), and with all the assembly and testing, I'd say it took me about 5 hours per module.
I have since installed them in my rack, and enjoy using them as the foundational tonal source for experimenting.
These kits have sparked more interest in other functional modules and I've begun working on my own builds to add to the VCOs.

Great module and great support

This is a really great sequential switch. Having the manual stage selection and CV addressing are awesome features.

The build and layout are really nice; very enjoyable to build.

I had some trouble with my build, but PM Foundations was super communicative and helped me debug my module.

I had some issues clocking the module using triggers, but PM Foundations suggested running the triggers through an attenuator or comparator which worked great!

to provide some nice binary counting triggers. its frequency range is great considering if you use the divider you have a lot of options.

A year later - SUCCESS!

For Attenuverter (Eurorack PCB Set)

What better time to tackle the SMD demon than right now - a whole year later! After a year or so of through-hole, I've finally decided to hit the SMD projects I've been sitting on, and this was my first!

I blew the chip out the first time through because I didn't see the correct marking. I pulled the chip off and put a back-up the right way-round and now I've got a great 4-channel Attenuverter, AND a complete SMD build!

Solid, compact VCO.

For Eurorack Dual Ring Modulator (PCB and Panel)

I actually got this to use as an audio rate modulation source in a small system geared toward processing external signals, but it sounds nice enough I've been using it mostly as a sound source so far. Controls are pretty tightly packed (no surprise for the size) but since they're knurled split shaft it's easy to use them with no knobs if you want a bit more space, and I'd always take proper Alps-style 9mm pots like these over the little plastic trimmers most compact modules use. Easy build but a little fussy to calibrate - even with the multi-turn trimmers the scaling adjustment is really sensitive.

Will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it and would recommend it to anyone looking to add an oscillator that doesn't take up a ton of space and is a bit more feature rich than most compact oscillators.

Happily ringing

This was my second PMFoundations kit, and like the first I bought it in part because I wanted to learn surface mount soldering and this is a pretty easy, low cost surface mount kit. The build went pretty smoothly. On first power up only one of the two modulators was working but I eventually found a bad connection and fixed it, now it's working great. (Having schematics would've made debugging easier, that's my one gripe.) Bring on more surface mount, these modules made me ready!

I love ring modulators, and I haven't had a chance to use one in hardware since my ARP 2600 days way back when I was in college a long long time ago. I've been having great fun with this one, or really just half of this one connected to a Befaco VCO and a Moog Mother-32, getting all kinds of otherworldly noisy and bell-like and crazy sounds. I've never had two ring modulators simultaneously and I'm almost afraid to hear what I can come up with using both! I recommend this module highly.

Great little VCO

What a great sweet sounding little VCO, I used the 3080 reissue chips from Modular Addict and it sounds lovely! I bought 3 to make chords using the Ornament and Crime Harrington 1200, sounds awesome. I got the wooden panels which I sanded and oiled and they look sexy. Notes on the build; very easy build, it's stable after an initial warm up period, you must let it warm up for 10 mins at least, not terribly accurate over several octaves but also not too bad, still very useable with lots of smooth character, pairs really nicely with the Kassutronics Transistor ladder filter, the Sine wave is lovely. One thing to note is the right angled power header makes this module just too deep for my case with the ribbon cable attached so swap out the right angle header for a straight one. Don't just make one make 2 or 3, the hp is small, then you can create complex fat chords. Highly recommended. John is a nice guy too, sent me a free wood panel to match my set.

This came together relatively easily - looks like a lot, and it kinda is, but the board is laid out well and the parts list isn't too complicated. Having two of these State Machine modules is a great idea - had a whole lot of new and interesting motion in the chaos, and already finding different things to both throw this at and throw into it - thanks again!
