RP2040 and GPIO in my uconsole? Perfect!
For uPico
I actually received this last year, but didn't get my uconsole until recently, so I haven't been able to properly use it. The uPico is super cool! I've always been a fan of the RP2040 and having one inside of my uconsole has been great - I had always hoped to have some external GPIO with the uconsole so this solves that, too. The 'upico' software utility is really well-thought out and it means I can control it despite it being inside of the device (i.e. boot/reset buttons, etc). I've been able to use circuitpython and micropython with no problems. I also purchased the 'traffic lights' kit, and was able to use the RP2040's PIO state machine to do a nice smooth fade with the LEDs on it.
Overall, it's a great open source addition to a great open source device, and really enhances its capabilities, as well.
