The maker has clearly labelled all the GPIOs making it a breeze to understand. Seriously, this board has it all! USB x 2, inputs and outputs (including relay drive), dedicated power input - all with wago connectors, LEDs x 24, SD card and of course, an e-paper interface. I look at as a sort of ‘swiss-army’ knife board built for an ESP32.
The stock firmware has some very useful features such as WiFi QR code generation, image display, SNMP uptime, clocks (including TTG), and what day different bins go out. As a bonus, if you use ESPhome, then anything is possible.
What am I using it for? Currently I have one driving a Waveshare 7.5” e-paper screen, which the maker pairs in this bundle - a lovely Waveshare laminated black edge variant screen – simply the best; this displaying live data feeds from both a personal weather station and air source heat pump via ESPhome and MQTT, and another telling me what day the bins go out, sunrise, time and a constantly updated image of interest.
The possibilities are endless…..a fantastic board!
