For XTSD ISA 8 bits (Low Profile)

Just drop this tiny card in, and you're 100% good to go!

I kept my existing HDD controller and floppy controller. My only tweak was to tell my AMI BIOS to not use 300H for disk, but to use "DOS 1K"

Also, shockingly fast email help from Aitor, the designer/builder/seller.

Works great in my IBM 5150

For RTC ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

Works exactly as expected. Used the software suggested, pointed it at the correct port, and it just worked. Not having to type in the date and time on every boot is really nice, and this is one of the very few options for real-time clocks these days.

Extremely useful card.

For Micro XTCF ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

Very useful card. Works great in the XTs I've tried it in.

My one and only issue with it is the switches could have been labelled a little better.

Its had quite a few hours use so far. Completely trouble-free.

Excellent implementation of the ISA CF card "hard disk"

For Micro XTCF ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

I received one of these for use with an Olivetti Prodest PC1. It is a wonderfully compact solution and the low profile works especially well with the PC1. Now I have my eye on some of the other ISA products the seller has!

Todo perfecto lo unico que parece que antes se indicaba en la pcb instrucciones del dip y switch y ahora no. sera porque tambien se puede poner(recomendacion) en caja y al ir asi es una tonteria serigrafiar nada en la pcb porque no se veria al menos que la caja fuese de metacrilato/acrilico trasparente

lo que me hubiera gustado es que viniese con un pequeño papel (manual) con esas instrucciones de para que sirve el switch y dip

parece un buen profesional en las soldaduras, encantando.

mirare a ver si tiene alguna otro oshw que me encante y seguro que se lo compro

Las instrucciones sobre el DIP switch son muy simples, tan simples, que creo que no requiere mas información que la que he dejado publicada en la descripción del artículo, donde lo indico. Este producto, como otros que he publicado, simplemente ha sido llevado a cabo a modo de hobby. Tienes información más técnica acerca del mismo en el enlace de hackaday.io indicado en la descripción.

En su día mi amigo Agustín Gallego diseñó una carcasa en 3D para contenerlo, pero la demanda no es tan alta para que compense seguir ofreciéndolas, por otro lado, es tan pequeño que no es posible usar una caja de metacrilato/acrílico.

No obstante, agradezco tu interés y espero que lo disfrutes.

Amazing support and working great!

For RTC ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

Using this in my "Micro 8088" aka NuXT. Was super easy to solder together. The Dallas Clock came pre-soldered. I had a small issue with the firmware and the battery holder but was able to get it quickly resolved thanks to great support from Aitor the maker and seller here.

If you have any issues with the battery showing up dead in the BIOS just bend up the bottom pin a bit so it presses into the battery better.

Really happy with my RTC. :D

Fantastic little add-on for retro PC XT computers

For RTC ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

Great product, absolutely plug and play:
- Plug a battery into the card
- Insert the card in an ISA slot
- Start your PC XT
- Run "DATE" and "TIME" at the MS-DOS command prompt
- Then run "SET_RTC 576" (240h I/O port)
- Finally edit AUTOEXEC.BAT to add "GET_RTC 576"
And you are ready to go!

I taught my XT computer to tell time!

For RTC ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

I installed the RTC module into an 8 bit slot on my Magitronic XT V20 IBM clone motherboard. I set the date and time using DOS' DATE and TIME commands. I then set the RTC using the command:

SET_RTC 576

Upon reboot I issued the command:

GET_RTC 576

and DOS updated with the correct date and time. It couldn't be easier. You must use the decimal value of the I/O address of the RTC card (576 = 240h) to both set and retrieve the date/time from the RTC card.

The RTC card does not come with a battery but it's easily found in any store as it uses the most common CR-2032 coin cell battery (the same battery used on motherboards for CMOS backup). Make sure you install the battery with the + side up.

If you're looking to add date/time features to your PC/XT/Clone then this little RTC card will do that for you. I highly recommend!

Just what my Tandy 1000 needed!

I bought one for my Tandy 1000TX, got it configured for 240h and works great with the suggested software. I used Brutman's mTCP suite with SNTP to set exact Internet NTP date and time then update the RTC, now my clock is always correct, a very nice to have addition to my retro setup!

Cruising down Memory Lane

For ZXUno+

Discovered ZXUno+ a few days ago, hunting for alternative FPGA-based emulation devices.
Found that you can actually buy it. And a VGA/DB9 (Joystick) adapter, and a case. Nice! Decided to give it a go.
The small parcel arrived in less than a week (today) here in the Netherlands where we live, very carefully packed. Opened it - the ZXUno+ is assembled and ready to use. Extra nice touch: in the package was also a USB-to-PS/2 adapter. Many thanks!
(This saved me a lot of hunting in my 'lair' for my own. And I had only one, so now I can even attach a mouse! Yay!)

OK. First boot, device connected to a VGA monitor: no image ('frequency out of range'). Device is probably set up for TV (50Hz), my old 4:3 VGA monitor does not like that frequency. Second boot (with an AV-to-HDMI adapter on my main screen) - yes, we have an image! Go into settings (yes, this thing actually has a BIOS setup screen!). Amazed about the number of cores and ROMs. Sooo much to explore! OK. Advanced, Video, VGA, 59.5Hz. Save and reboot. Nothing. Hm. OK, power-cycle. Yes! We have a rock-steady screen image on VGA. Neat!

Must try the Jupiter Ace - I made a core for a Papilio One 500 some time ago, this is the first time I can try my TZXDuino adaptation on the ODROID-GO for tape-in on something that I did not make myself. Worked on first try!
"Big Scroll Demo" runs butter-smooth, the graphics are just perfect, no tearing, no artifacts.
Compliments: this is a much better Jupiter Ace core with VGA output than my own. Looks like I can learn something about FPGA adaptation from its source code! Great! :-)

Hm. There is a Commodore PET core? Tried to update the core. OK, it really needs its specific filename (CORE17.ZX1). But then it worked. It replaces the VIC-20, very good. I call it PET2001.

Power-cycle. Green text on black. Very crisp. Neat!

Then it hits me: "It is 1981. You stand in front of a CBM4016 that is sitting on an overhead projector trolley. This is the first day you are in the after-school computer group. You enter your first BASIC program."

I like the device: the build quality, the amount of thought that has gone into the design, the manual, the BIOS, and the many supported cores and ROMs. This is a device that lets you explore retro computers (not only - but also - games), on modern hardware, with a bit more comfort than in 'the olden days'. Because it emulates the hardware, it feels genuine.

Highly recommended!

The ZXUno+ team have done an amazing job here. You made my day! Many thanks to you all!

Literally plug in and go

If you're using this with the Micro 8088 platform then it easily adds the missing RTC functionality. Just plug it into an ISA slot and you're done. In my case I bought the RTC and micro 8088 board from here and haven't been disappointed. Delivery was quick and service very responsive.

An amazing product with full retro-experience

For ZXGo+ 2Mb. ZX Spectrum based on FPGA.

This is an all-in-one modern retro computer that can emulate (using FPGA hardware) many vintage computers such as the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64/VIC, BBC, etc. The only thing you need to be aware of is that most of the available documentation (online) is in Spanish. It is based on the more popular ZX Uno platform and if you use the Google translate you will be OK. I installed this inside a ZX Spectrum + case and used a 5v USB adapter to power it up. I faced some issues with running software but all were resolved thanks to the owner of this project (Aitor Gómez García), who was really keen to help and offer advise. He is super friendly and very knowledgable and I owe it to him for bringing this computer up to its full potential. If you are into retro-computers buy this; it's the magic box that will bring you the nostalgia you ever wanted. Apart from the effort in translating Spanish to English (documentation), I will for sure give it 5 Stars; it's an AMAZING product.

Great real time clock for a XT

Though I miss some decoupling capacitors on the board, it works like a charm. Feels so great not to have to enter date and time again and again and again. Great product, highly recommended!

Nice little board

For RTC ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

If you own Micro 8088 then you need this board. Board is very simple in design and can be easy update to work under different address (you need programmer capable of handling GAL chips). Being low profile makes it bit hard to pull out, but it lower the cost.

Niche product does the job. Some technical hurdles.

The RTC board works like a champ after some technical support to get it working with my IBM 5155. Get the specific RTC program for it as well (just ask, you'll get links). Works like a champ now. port 70h wouldn't work with mine. It would just lock up. Port 240h works perfectly. No more need to type in date and time at each boot. Just run the RTC program to get the time from autoexec and go. I wish more companies were this helpful.

Thank you for purchasing this product and for this review. Initially the project was intended to work on port 070h because it was intended for use with Sergey Kiselev's Micro8088 clone, however it can be a conflicting port in other clones, for which 240h is a perfect I/O port.

Works fine in a Commodore PC10-II XT-Clone from 1986

For RTC ISA 8 bits (Very Low Profile)

I just came back from holidays and found this little package from Spain.
After some juggeling around with the jumpers for the hardware interrupts of all the other cards (MFM, Sound, XT-IDE), I first thought I got it running with CLOCK.COM from David_M.(http://www.minuszerodegrees.net/rtc/david_m/CLOCK.zip) as it was suggested in the forum.
BUT: If I don't use the "forced" mode to port 70h CLOCK.COM would freeze my machine.
AND: With forced mode I could only read and write date and time from DOS to RTC, but the RTC would not "tick". It always kept the same hour, minute and seconds.
I wasn't able to determine the cause of that behaviour.
I mailed Spark2k06 about this problem and he patietnly and friendly looked into my problem and provided then a "handwritten" alternative "driver programm" via mail, where you can set the port manually.

This soultion now works perfectly fine!!! :-)

I was looking for this kind of extension card for quite a while.

Very responsive and helpful seller

Product is a nice addition to systems which only need an RTC. Most other RTC boards are integrated with other functions which you may or may not need and thus you pay for unused features.

With this board, if you need an RTC only, this is the best product for you.

I initially had some issues with using the product with my IBM 5155. Thanks to spark2k06 for the responsive help of spark2k06, I could get it to work.

Amazing product and seller! Exactly what I needed!

After weeks of use, I can say that these devices works very well. I am usually a retro computer hobbyist, but this was not the purpose of my purchase. In fact, I had a head concussion a year ago, and I am still suffering from a post concussion syndrome. One of the main symptom is photophobia and blue light is the most armful. With this device, I can fully and physically disable the blue light. Combined with a CRT monitor, my screen time without serious symptoms improved in a very noticeable way. I definitely recommend this device for any retro computer hobbyist or anyone who has photophobia. Also, the seller is very professional and friendly. Thank you!

Après quelques semaines d’utilisation, je dois dire que ces appareils fonctionnent très bien. Bien que l’informatique ancienne soit l’un de mes passe-temps, j’en ai fait l’acquisition dans le cadre d’un syndrome post-commotionnel qui dure depuis plus d’un an, dont l’un des symptômes consiste en la photophobie. La lumière des écrans, et surtout la lumière bleu me cause des symptômes. Avec cet appareil, il est possible de désactiver la lumière bleu d’une manière matérielle, au lieu que par simple logiciel. Cet appareil a fait en sorte que les symptômes à l’écran ont diminué de manière significative, et d’autant plus lorsque combiné avec un écran cathodique. Je recommande cet appareil qui est par ailleurs très abordable. Par ailleurs, le vendeur est très amical et très professionnel. Merci beaucoup!
