Arrived damaged, no documentation. Has potential.
For FPV - Meshtastic Detection Node (Drone Detection)
The bad: Boards were shipped stuffed into a thin bubble mailer and were damaged. No documentation whatsoever or instructions on how to use the claimed JSON message commands. Any portapack can do this in recon scan; and you’re not limited to the 54 channels this uses.
What was most disturbing was that they sold incorrect PCBs, with a solder bridge across the top of the ground pins of the modules. The firmware is closed source, so you have no idea what it actually does and can’t update or change anything. Soldering was the worst I’ve ever seen in a paid project; I say this with over 25yrs experience with an iron. Please add option to just sell the PCB and let us build and flash these ourselves.
The good: Seller responsive, accepted return. I wasn’t able to test it so I have no feedback there. PCB is nicely designed and the price point is reasonable (I built something nearly identical before purchasing). Looking forward to trying again if it’s open sourced.
Overall: There’s definitely promise in this, but without open firmware and ability to change it or update it, it’ll be severely limited in what it can do. Soldering leaves much to be desired. Seller is responsive and knowledgeable.
