The OPT4001 is a precision light sensor that matches human eye sensitivity, which means it sees light the same way we do. The built-in IR rejection helps avoid false readings from sunlight, and it handles auto-ranging for you - from near-dark to bright daylight. Just connect I2C via a STEMMA-QT or Qwiic connector, and you've got accurate light readings without the usual calibration headaches.
There is an existing CircuitPython library for the OPT4001. I am working on support for Arduino/Zephyr. https://github.com/PyCubed-Mini/CircuitPython_OPT4001
Additional features: - 28-bit effective dynamic range - Configurable update rate - Optional interrupt pin exposed - 3.3V operation, 5V tolerant I/O - Address select jumper on underside of device - Open source, designed in KiCAD 8
Notes: Default I2C address is: 0b1000100. If A1 jumper is closed, I2C address changes to 0b1000101.
