About

Hi,
in the '80s i had a Fidonet node in Italy. It was an experience that literally changed my life: i've met people that today are still my best friends and learned how to manage complex systems. Thanks to that i found my first job.
Today i'm a retro-collector (https://www.museo-computer.it), producer of video documentaries about that period (https://www.8bitgeneration.com) and recently i've designed electronic peripherals such as a RS232 Wifi Modem for connecting old computers to the internet. With that device, you can connect to a telnet BBS in the same way we did with analog lines!

As the name implies, a simple solution

For Simple Wifi RS232 Modem v2

I got this to get online with me Sinclair QL. Works perfectly with a QL to DB9 adapter from one of the specialist Sinclair e-shops.

Seeing a BBS spring to life on the screen of this old machine was somewhat magical. And easy to do.

Works perfectly

For Apple II ProDOS bootable 1MB read-only drive v4.0

My unenhanced //e boots this card almost instantly. I'll probably be changing the EPROM contents, but the default one is a good start.

For Apple2-IO-RPi - expansion card using a RaspberryPI

I had to upgrade the firmware to get full functionality, but that's as easy as running a BASIC program, so no problem at all.
This is a really cool product, and it works very well. The software is very impressive.
I was expecting to need to buy a Pi Zero 2W for this, but it works perfectly (and surprisingly fast) with an old Pi Zero W.
