No longer untested, and it did arrive safely in the USA
For Simple Wifi RS232 Modem v2
I order this device on November 30th, 2022, and it arrived here in Odenton, Maryland, USA on December 10th 2022. This thing was shipped from Italy to the US, less than 14 days, which I consider a win. I am presently unable to attempt using the device yet as I need to get an appropriate cable for my machine. It does however seem to power up and the far left LED stays lit as does the 3rd LED. If the LED's in those positions correspond the LED's in those position in the schematics, everything should be functional. So I can not comment on that yet. However, I want give a good review on the following. The device does seem to have a nicely designed case, and seems very sturdy. The DB-9 9 pin connector seems study although it had no screws connecting it to the casing, this may on may not have been possible depending on the components and their position inside the case. While I would have preferred the serial plug to be screwed down, this will never become an issue as I intend to attach a serial cable and likely never use this device with any other cable. This means I will not be plugging and unplugging the serial cable, and will unlikely ever cause any damage by doing so. I want to later open this device and determine if ANY pins are unused on the 9 pin serial connector. If so I may make my own cable which will add a 5 volt connection so I can power this device though the serial port by connect it to the computer's power supply though the serial cable.
I now have had a chance to connect this to my Linux box. I can not seem to do much with the device. After typing "ATI " I get the following...

After that I can not figure out anything else. I tried using a few commands I remembered from my days using dial-up and I get NO response after that initial command. it does not even echo the character I type into the modem. I really need help/ Also when plugged into the retro computer I get nothing at all. I am wondering if the retro computers RS-232 cable is incorrectly wired. The Computer I am using it on is a Tandy Color Computer. One end is a 4 pin full sized DIN plug, the other end is a 9 pin serial plug (female) so I added a gender changer to make the cable mate with the WiFi modem. Any suggestions?
if I hold down the reset I get the following:

After playing a while and visiting the github page I got it to connect to the WiFi. After that the weird behavior stopped. I thing the reason it was not echoing my typed words was that when it is not connected to WiFi it does not seem to know that it should echo back characters typed. So not it works on my Linux Box, I will have to change to a higher speed, 1200 8m1 is just too slow. Once that is done I will obviously need a new RS232 cable, or try to rewire this one as it does not work with the WiFi Modem even after setting the modem up and seeing it does work. Just got to find the proper pin out.
