OPL/2 is a fun toy.
For OPL2 Audio Board
I received the opl/2 as a kit. There was instructions on assembly and first use. BUT when it comes time to wire up to your controller, good luck. I first tried using wiring described by the assemble sheet, but no sound. I've spent a few hours trying to diagnosis a hardware problem. Finding the schematic didn't match the hardware. The clock was ok, serial to parallel was ok,
Hmmm not much remained. I was using a Raspberry Pi. I took a look at the source for the demo and saw different pin layout from the assembly sheet. Changed to demo pin connections but still no sound. Then I looked at the OPL lib source and found a third set of pin usage - and they worked. Maybe I should have ask when I found the first inconsistency?
Hardware to schematic or pin usage? It is a fun toy, now that it's producing sound.
