Missing a screw, and shipping was messed up.

For uMSX Pro Rev.3.80 - 1ChipMSX Clone

So first the annoyances.

I paid for FedEx shipping, which the seller changed to China Post (he said that he was going to ship it EMS, which appears to not have happened), so I'm out $16 on the FedEx shipping premium. Not terrible, but annoying. I first got a bad tracking number for FedEx before I figured out what was going on. The good news is that the seller appears to have removed the FedEx shipping option. Good. It ended up showing up a day late for PhreakNIC, but that still gave me a day to show it off (but no time to try it out).

The board itself had a screw loose when I opened the package (and either lost another one somewhere, or it wasn't included). I've got plenty of these type of screws at home so no big deal. But I was lucky that it fell out of the case and didn't stay in the case before I had powered it up. And personally I would use normal steel screws, stainless steel screws won't stick to a magnet, and I have clumsy fingers... :)

Now the good things:

It is a very nice looking board, which is well laid out. Very pretty indeed! Excellent documentation, including the source code and the design files! That is fantastic!

The seller did get back to me on the shipping issue very quickly. The board was very well protected in the box (which got beat up a bit on the way over). So no problems with the packaging.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and outside of the shipping issue, the service as well. I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again.

😅FedEx once cost me $500, so I never use it again. If I don't use China Post (EMS system) and use something like UPS, DPD, DHL, the shipping cost will be doubled (and not much faster). The acrylic shell of uMSX is indeed a bit fragile, I am designing a 3D printed version. 😄Things like the screw disappearing often happen to me, luckily you fixed it yourself. As for the extra $15, I will give you a discount code next time.

Best MSX pack for the price

For uMSX Pro Rev.3.80 - 1ChipMSX Clone

It's a great package at a very reasonable price, practically including everything an MSX enthusiast (or, as in my case, someone interested in the platform) could want or need.

I encountered only one inconvenience, which I reported to the seller and I assume will be solved for future customers: although the case seems to be of good quality, the slots for the cartridges should be a few millimeters wider. I couldn't insert cartridges with the case cover on, I had to unscrew it and take it out. I plan to use a dremel to slightly enlarge the size of the slots, I hope I don't ruin it aesthetically.

The seller responded quickly to all my questions and was very patient, which I appreciate, but it would be convenient, both for him and his clients, if the package includes some type of introductory documentation in English, summarizing the use of each functionality, accompanied of links where you can find more information.

Absolutely wonderful, niche product!

For uMSX Pro Rev.3.80 - 1ChipMSX Clone

I absolutely love this thing. It looks so professionally done but its very evident the creator had heart and a physical hand in putting it together.
I am no MSX enthusiast, but I really want to be one, especially for development on Symbos, which this device supports extremely well.

Seller is very timely on questions and messages, the only thing I'd say for the seller to consider is making a wiki of some sort for this ecosystem. All the information is out there, its just a bit of a hunt to find it on all his store pages!
