I strongly recommend the Dragino brand, so far it improved signal reception a lot. Delivery was fast however due to COVID the package was delayed by 3 weeks.

For IoT Development Kit V1(LG01-P)/V2(LG01-N)

I received the kit fast, and I started working with it based on the manual. I was able to connect the gateway and send information from the nodes. Only had problems with the jumpers in the kit they break easily and the power connector for the gateway stop working, but everything else was good.

Functioning modules, quick shipping

For Lora Module

I needed a couple dozen HopeRF-compatible pinout LoRa modules for a mesh project I am working on, and ran into availability problems from most sources. I'm happy to report that the 25 modules I ordered arrived fairly quickly (for mail from China) and the few I've soldered so far are all functioning 100%.

Easy to setup and to get it to work. Took only 15 minutes

Quite easy to setup. Within 15 minutes I had the gateway connected to TheThingsNetwork and received the first messages from my LoRa sensor nodes.

Documentation could be improved, I stumbled over a problem because I use LoRaWan US region and I found no documentation about Frequency Sub Band settings.

Works great with TTN and Ubidots

For LoRaWAN GPS Tracker with9-axis accelerometer-LGT92

Bought this for a quick proof of concept. Had it running with Ubidots in less than a couple of hours. It comes preconfigured with TTN so no need to flash a custome firmware; it automatically picked up the signal of the local TTN network. Bought US915 version.

Good LoRa sensor simple to setup up and working well

This Temperature sensor is easy to set up and get connected to LoRa network.
The unit is compact and well made with easy mounting options.
So far the unit has performed reliably and I would most likely be using more of theses in the future.

A great gadget for a great price.

For LG01 -P LoRa OpenWrt IoT Gateway

After researching this product, I found that the cost of the parts in it would cost about the same as the finished item, so that is a great deal right there.
So it is cheaper or the same cost to buy this already to go unit, than to build one yourself., unless you really need a multi-channel gateway.
The firmware and documentation are great, and it works better than expected.
The only CONs are that it is only 1 channel, and it is a bit slow on packet forwarding, but that was supposedly fixed in the new firmware update.
Everything else about it a a PRO!

Great affordable LoRaWAN device to use without soldering!

I like the LoRa/GPS HAT very much. Initially I used it as a Single Channel Gateway (1ch-gw), it was very reliable in this role. Since we migrated to LoRaWAN gateways in the last weeks, I'm now using it as sensor board. We have two use-cases for the board: (1) we would like to create LoRa beacons with this device and measure our network/gateway coverage with it and (2) I will use it as a generic sensor transmitting sensor data.
Although there are alternatives available, I like this HAT as it can be used without soldering. Just put it on top of a Raspberry and it will work after software installation. I like this approach, as I'm not so keen on soldering. ;)
Shipping was without problem, but it takes 3+ weeks and has no free shipping option, that's why I give it only 4 stars.
Documentation is online, which is fine for me (I don't need a printed manual)

Excellent Combo

This kit is excellent for getting started, for building prototypes and to get familiar with LORA. The router comes with OpenWRT so you can bridge with any service you can code. Support is excellent and documentation pretty good. They keep updating the wiki and the firmware pretty often. Keep up the good work Dragino!

Excellent way to start with point-to-point LoRa

For LG01 -P LoRa OpenWrt IoT Gateway

After some trouble getting the two 915 MHz version gateways I ordered (868 MHz version was sent the first time) I was able to follow the very well-documented getting-started instructions to see the gateway on my laptop, get it connected to my local wifi network, program to blink the heart led, and then get both gateways talking to each other, one as a server and one as a client.

The documentation is very clear and easy to follow. The example sketches work well out of the box using Radiohead's library.

Overall, this is a nice starter for people who want to dip their toe into the LoRa radio waters. It is not a LoRaWAN-capable system, as is made clear on the tindie store page, but users will be able to connect multiple LoRa radio clients to one of these "gateways" and have them send data to the gateway in turns. This is fine for in home use and for hobbyists to tinker with. Overall I am happy with the two gateways I bought and I plan to make use of them for projects around the house using my own LoRa development boards as the clients. Well done Edwin!

My only complaint is that the AVR MCU running the LoRa radio is severly underpowered, has no RTC, limited RAM, no encryption, etc all of the missing features that cause people to move up to an ARM-based MCU. Perhaps this could be done for a future version of this lovely little gateway?

Product was needed for a LoRa weather balloon project I'm working on. In the US, getting LoRa components is bit tough. So this Tindie vendor was a life-saver! The product arrived pretty quickly, was trackable, and works just fine. E-mailed back and forth with the vendor to confirm some functionality and obtain documentation. They were very responsive.
