Good-ish
For Unisolder 5.2C Finished Circuit Board
The unisolder project itself seems pretty great to me. It's easily able to compete with commercial products selling for many hundreds of dollars or more in both functionality and performance. Some documentation covering the basics is available, but it unfortunately leaves a few things to be desired. You might end up having to find the information you're after in a forum thread that's hundreds of pages long.
The assembled PCBs I received seem well-made. All the SMD soldering on it looked great to me, but for some of the hand-soldered through-hole components I felt the need to touch them up slightly. I liked the use of machined pin-headers for the display connection, and having all necessary connectors and wiring included is a nice touch. My unit arrived with a lot of residue on it which took a while to clean up, but your mileage may vary.
The bare PCBs I received had solder-paste applied to them previously, most of which seems to have rubbed off during shipping. That made for a somewhat messy unpacking experience as I wasn't expecting it.
I wasn't able to get the sensor PCB I received to work as intended and, based on its schematic, I'm not sure how it ever could. When reaching out about that I've been told that the sensor I got has been superseded by a new version in the time it took me to assemble my station, which I think is unfortunate. You might end up having to DIY your own if you receive the same model I did.
Both types of handle I received work well with original JBC cartridges, are quite comfortable to work with, and have a very flexible silicone cable that doesn't easily get in the way.
The 191 thermometer seems like good value for money to me. I wanted to calibrate it against one of my most trustworthy thermocouples, but it turned out that it was well-calibrated out of the box. Maybe I just got lucky, though.
I'd buy this again if I ever have the need for another soldering station.
