Fantastic

For Fibonacci256 - 166mm disc with 256 WS2812B RGB LED

The quality of the effect and the product are top notch and absolutely worth the price. It’s hard not to stop and stare at how beautiful this is. More importantly, I had a minor issue with my fib256 and the support I received was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful communication, with multiple options to solve my issue. I will be buying from this vendor again.

Very Nice!

For Fibonacci64 Mini - 64mm disc with 64 RGB LEDs

I bought the 256mm version and liked it very much, so I bought this one for my daughter, and it is very nice as well. Very pretty mesmerizing spirals. I have not gotten into the backend of the small one, but the larger one is very cool. Many profiles to choose from, and many settings to make your own. Recommend

Bought this gem without a controller, paired with a Pixelblaze.
Assembly is trivial, and the matte field of irregularly placed leds looks really really nice.
I'm so wanting the 256 version now.

A true work of art!

For Fibonacci256 - 166mm disc with 256 WS2812B RGB LED

I have a lot of colored lights in my house, ranging from off the shelf Hue and Nanoleaf to more hand crafted pieces like the Pixelblaze, and I can say definitively that the Fibonacci256 is one of the best in any category. I got the complete kit and the results of the matted cover with the light leaking from the sides really is able to light up a room.
The patterns though in combination with the varying strength of the leds really gives an organic feel that adds depth to the device and you really get sucked in as the patterns swirl and shift.
What makes this device even better is the quality of the underlying software. A lot of devices are pretty bare bones in terms of the actual software, but the underlying esp8266-fastled-webserver is top notch, actually excepting pull requests (an anomaly from my experience) and being actively developed.
Highly recommended!

Amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail

I received my Fibonacci64 nicely packaged with clear instructions. It's extremely well crafted. Typically I find it hard to get niche electronics like this configured but it was a breeze. I had it out of the box, setup and playing with it within 3 minutes. The fact that time has been taken to not only ensure an easy setup, but an easy configuration is a testament to this item. Configuration is easy, and fun through a web app. It's absolutely beautiful to look at. Extremely happy with this purchase.

Great little distraction

For Fibonacci64 - 86mm disc with 64 WS2812B RGB LEDs

The Fibonacci64 arrived within four days of the order. It powered right up and easily connected to the wifi. The control app has an abundance of controls, sliders and various options to keep you occupied for hours. And as a plus the display is superb, it's crisp, bright and fast. So often you buy something on a whim and it only disappoints. NOT so with the 64 is one of those little oddities that just keeps bringing a smile to the face. I've really enjoyed this little visual trinket and highly recommend it.

Evil Genius has been AWESOME answering my silly questions and has done an OUTSTANDING job of responding and supporting his business. This is a guy who absolutely goes out of his way to keep his customers happy and help out.
Lastly - he is willing to update some of his documentation to allow knuckleheads like me to be able to do a better job with his products!
UPDATE - I was able to get the firmware setup and running and Evil Genius is GREAT! I will definitely be buying more from him!

Worked great, nice solution for a low-profile wearable

For Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 Level Shifter Mini Shield

I had such a good experience with the 6-channel level shifter, I decided to order one more as well as this mini shield. It's tiny and great for a wearable project I'm working on. The only suggestion I have is that I would have liked 5V / Gnd connections for each of the 4 channels, like with the larger shield. Not a big issue but would be nice if you can make it fit. Works great!

Great simple solution for making a ESP8266 LED-friendly

Purchased this board to drive an animated lamp project. It provides a nice, clean solution to adding a level shifter to your design, and includes the recommended capacitor and in-line resistors. Reasonably priced. Works great!

Great board but....

For NodeMCU-32S ESP32 Wi-Fi and BLE LED Controller

Webserver code is cool not what I'm using it for. The documentation wasn't just clear enough on the board layout. It says it can use clocking LEDs but no pin for it. It just says output. The code is for a webserver or BLE only. No notation or illustration on where in the code to change the pins.

High quality component and well built board.

For Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 LED & Level Shifter Shield

I finally received my order, and I was very happy and satisfied. It came in a nice black envelope with protective cover for the level shiffter. Soldering went easy, but I wished there were more detailed pictures of how the part should go together (not so professional in electronic component and how they are orinated).

Once assembled, all worked fine.

One point, if you are not using a good power supply, the esp2866 will reboot and have error. all solved when I added a proper power supply to the end of the LED strip on the injection point.

works as advertised

For ESP32 DevKitC Wi-Fi and BLE LED Controller

My ESP32 dev board is slightly wider than the DevKitC usual, but was still able to make things fit. Instructions are great; also great to have the component kit available as an options (since the SN74HCT245N is harder to find in small quantities). Solved my problem getting longer LED strips to stop jittering.

Excellent solution to an otherwise messy project

For Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 LED & Level Shifter Shield

I am upgrading an old FastLED project that used Infrared to control LED strips. I wanted something other than an IR remote that could be used by guests at my house to control the LED. Jason's esp8266-fastled-webserver, coupled with this shield, is exactly what I was looking for. It greatly simplified everything. What used to be a messy pile of wires and components is now all on a neat, professional-looking little shield.

The instructions are clear and easy, and the accompanying code can be customized to fit your project. I will definitely be grabbing more of these and some of the ESP32 shields!

I was looking for a small solution for a table light project and the Evil Genius shield was perfect. The assembly documentation is comprehensive and easy to follow - it took me (an inexperienced user of the soldering iron) about 45 minutes to complete. It worked perfectly.
Best of all, Jason refunded the import duty even though I’d missed the link to the UK distributor.
I’ve ordered another 2 and would recommend the product and even more the seller without reservation.

Takes assembly but works great

For Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 LED & Level Shifter Shield

I just ordered a couple more because its a great compact way to drive a decent amount of neopixels off a wemos mini. Once you build the board its no worries about the wiring and you can just load the sketch and go. I like how that his board has the dedicated power inputs and labels on the outputs making wiring up any led sketch a lot faster. I was a bit skeptical about this kit not coming with all the parts, but they have worked great since I built them. Works like a champ with mqtt and hassio.

A great designed board produced to a high quality for a very reasonable price. The online instructions were easy to follow and well written.
