A+ Seller & (newly improved) Product!

For DSTIKE WiFi deauther OLED V3.5 (Added RGB LED)

Beautifully designed board, pre-compiled w/ Spacehuhn's DeAuth coding.
The external antenna provides a Much longer range than those without external antenna (I was honestly surprised by the Significant range increase). The on-board OLED screen allows one to either connect remotely to it & execute commands or simply use the buttons & screen on the board to execute actions without wirelessly connecting to it (giving it more of a plug-&-play style feel).
The updated design is quite nice, namely the improved battery-life & certainly the new buttons, which are not only of better quality than before, but are now more appropriately positioned to allow much easier physical access (especially w/ the clear front shield attachment).

The seller was of great help, replied to ALL of my (many) questions & concerns. Fast replies & great shipping!
'Would recommend this seller to any friends or family & I'll personally be ordering from this seller again very soon!

But the article is V2.0. That was what I've ordered and what I've received. Delivery took about 3 weeks, but that was expected. There is no documentation at all delivered together with the product, but everything needed is available online.

Great bit of kit!

Works exactly as intended, very well constructed, going to have a lot of fun with it I'm sure!

Only minor niggle...the case, if you've got chunky fingers it gets in the way..apart from that, great!

Case? What case?

For DSTIKE WiFi deauther OLED V3.5 (Added RGB LED)

The board is great and does what it should. However stating that it comes with a "case" and then just shipping a clear acrylic face plate and a few standoffs is not what I expected. There is no documentation on how this acrylic plate is supposed to be mounted and how the antenna should be mounted. If the face plate is mounted with the standoff in front of the board and display, it will cover the buttons on the board and make them inaccessible. Mounting it at the back would cover the battery holder only but makes not much sense either. If someone has an idea how to mount this in a useful way - buttons accessible, antenna fixed to prevent strain on the antenna connector - please let me know!

Works just as described. Fun to use.

For WiFi Packet Monitor (Preflashed D-duino-B)

The device came with a short USB cable, so I could plug it in right away and it worked exactly as described. It monitors one channel at a time, and provides a count of the activity on that channel every few seconds. Along the bottom of the display, it shows a running graph of counts over time. Since the code is available on github, I'd like to modify it to show activity over all the channels simultaneously, at least as one option. In addition, the unit could be programmed to do almost any type of IoT device that needs a small display for the user to see what's happening. For example, it could show the output from a wifi weather station, or a remote sensor, or even a group of remote sensors.

So far everything is perfect

The board reched me in good condition and in a timely manner. Good packaging, it survived the journey around the globe without problems. I've been working in networking business for quite some time and also did planning and installation of WiFi for a few hundred simultaneous users.
When I recently learned about the existence of this device, it made me curious. Maybe it become a valuable tool . I should read the available informations first....naaa, fire it up and play with it. ;-)
Perhaps someone figures out a way to remote control this device from a smartphone?

Cool Tool, does what it should

For Pen-Testing a Deauther attack on a network the tool is pretty neat. There are some flaws.

1. The battery is not included. It uses very special type of battery which is hard to find and probably needs its own recharge station. It makes more sense to simply buy a cheap power bank in the nearest super market and use this with the USB port. Therefore the whole battery casing on the back is obsolete.

2. While you do find documentation on the software running on the board, it's hard to find anything on the board itself.

Nice toy

For DSTIKE WiFi deauther OLED V3.5 (Added RGB LED)

This board is not a consumer product (made by white collar guys for idiots) but a hacking toy (made for hackers) which means you have to read some documentation and understand what it does. Like: if you insert the (not inculded) battery you can't turn it on by simply pressing the power button. You have to connect the board to USB power first one time. Only then the power button works.
Devices were made in this hobbyist style when I was young, so I like it. It's cute, and it does what it is supposed to do once you know how to operate it ;-)

Gorgeous device I have been waiting for

I love it! Now I can finally reach the rest of the world with my 24 dB parabolic antenna ;-). Compared to V1 with ESP-12E: The OLED is bigger and glued better, so it does not tilt any more (was also a problem with D-duinos). Much better button ergonomics. The "case" (actually a plate) is a very good idea, but I should have two of them: One on top (as intended) and one on the button, with four 20 mm hex posts. This would also allow for anchoring the antenna adapter cable at one of the posts or on a cable tie pad.

Arrived Broken ;<

Arrived with the USB port (female microUSB, needed for charging, running without battery) "floating around" in the anti-static bag. It's not impossible to fix, but a little disappointing. With bench power and alligator-clips, I can fire it up. Recommend gluing down the USB port post application to board or just put a USB directly on the end, like the excellent WINXI (Arduino Zero) product. Either way, QC needs a quick email as this is likely a common problem after examining the connector, board and it's very fragile implementation sans-glue. Otherwise, a cool product. Thanks!

Nice device and really nice support

This device works like a charm. Using it since some days now, no problems.
Also I was in contact with the producer, he always gave good answers regarding the questions I had.

Only thing which could be improved is the placement of the screen, had to remove and attach it again, it was not even on the board. Also the power button should be changed, hard to reach it sitting between the power supply and USB port.

I ended up with a V2 board, and it is a big improvement over 1.5 -- Follow up support was awesome.
Works great! I would say if you are frustrated by the 1.5 buttons, that alone makes a worthwhile upgrade, if you use it regularly. Buttons/power works as expected now. (While I understand the software is someone else, it still could use improving; ** the hardware ** is much better over the previous version. Can't wait to see what comes next.

I use this to work out my logic for when there's something wrong with an IoT's connection.
The self-contained UI needs a lot of work (I have over 30 wifi ssid's listed, and pressing up and down 40-50 times to highlight & return is annoying.

The most annoying thing is that if the battery drains, and I swap out a new battery, it won't actually power up until I connect a usb cable; once I do, I can disconnect and power on the unit.
The built in UI has no way to change the time out period.
All in all, it works as advertised, and is a nice compact size. I am unable to get any data/ui/info from the serial connection when connected via usb to a serial monitor. Never heard back from the vendor on issues I am having.

Thank you for your feedback. Now V2 is not perfect still a lot of things need to be improved.
I have already started designing V3. What I can do is hardware, for software I believe spacehuhn will release a better version next time.

Battery Backup

For DSTIKE 18650 Pi Partner Kit

Bought these units as a possible UPS solution.
Not quite there for UPS functionality, more for portable on-the-go RPI use.
Brown-outs cause a RPI reboot due to slow switch between USB -> 18650. (Can be fixed by supercaps/ultracaps on available 3.3V and 5V respectively)
USB power restoral works as expected (no power interruptions).

SPI and I2C are strictly passthrough, no intelligent software and no interrupts nor high/low. Other GPIO are for board stability only, and are strictly passthrough as well.

5 LEDs work as expected. There are no LED I/O ports.

Watch out setting correct settings for flashing

Had some trouble to flash it, board did not boot.
Got hint on github from another user, he pointed me to right settings in Arduino IDE.
Use these settings:

Board: Generic ESP8266
Flash Mode: DIO
Flash Frequency: 40Mhz
CPU Frequency : 80Mhz
flash size: 1M (256K SPIFFS <<< not sure about this one but it works
Reset Method: nodemcu
Upload speed: 921600

Just, a really good product.

I bought this and I just received it today along with my x-ring, the shipping was okay took them a while but that's what you get for 5$ shipping. Anyways, the screen is just huge along with the text. Here's a picture of the Wifi Deauther Preflashed OLED compared to this one: https://gyazo.com/e752f5a1b76f6afbaaa98649960ce384 (the picture is looks smaller than in real life). The product came in safely intact and everything worked well and the buttons were moved into more comfortable positions. It worked like it said it would. Perfect. edit: after two days the circuit board got messed up with the antenna, just a mistake from the seller.

The pentester's friend

I received the WiFi deauther OLED V2 bubble-wrapped in a box big enough to survive the great dangers of shipping :-)
The deauther was in perfect shape, pre-flashed, and worked out of the box.
Technical support is fast and efficient, got my questions answered in minutes.
I also very much appreciated the communication efforts for transparency.

Some UX ideas after use:

- Small buttons are unfit for big fingers, and once the case is in place, even small fingers can't fit. Using a 5 way momentary push button (SMD version) instead of the momentary buttons would be a nice upgrade.
- Using a on/off switch instead of a momentary button would let users turn the deauther off while it's charging (faster charging).

Great product for education & research but also for testing my WiFi devices :-)

Wish battery voltage measurement was on board

For Pocket 32 V2

I bought a couple of these Pocket32 V2. Nice idea to include battery holder attached to board. Actually, I had one holder come unattached at the + end. I re-soldered easily. No problem for me. However, I wish a battery voltage resistor divider to a analog input was included on the board. I would guess most folks who would buy this would want to be able to read the battery voltage. And with the ESP32 there are certainly enough analog pins. I can build my own resister divider and the software is easy, but it doesn't appear the battery voltage is brought out to an accessible header pin. Please inform me of the easiest hardware connection methods to measure 18650 battery voltage.

Update 5 Sep 2017. After using the Pocket32 V2 board a little more, I have some additional comments which may be of interest to other folks considering this board for battery-powered purposes. First the good news. The seller seems to be very prompt in responding to my comments, both here and via private email. I believe he is very interested in customer comments and improving his products. Also good to know, both of my boards have the latest rev1 silicon for the ESP32 chip. This fixes several issues with the original rev0 silicon.

And now the bad news. If you want to use this board for long-term battery powered applications using the deep-sleep function of the ESP32, you will likely be disappointed. My measurements indicate 15mA from the battery during deep-sleep. (Note this is with rev1 silicon and Arduino IDE fixes for deep-sleep.) The ESP32 alone should only draw around 10 micro-amps during deep-sleep, not milli-amps. The seller believes the main reason is the charging system. The board uses a TP5410 which is a boost regulator which works something like this: 3.7V from 18650 battery --> TP5410 boost to 5V ---> regulated down to 3.3V for devices on the board. Further research on the internet tells me designs using this TP5410 are not meant for lengthy stand-alone battery use. Much too power inefficient. The board will be fine if constantly connected to USB for power and then 18650 will be the auto backup supply. Also, as I stated before, it doesn’t help that there is no way to programmatically monitor the actual battery voltage on this board.

I will do some research about how to measure it.

The "1.3 IIC Tiny OLED" is a nicely designed product,
it don't waste any square-mm of precious space on you PCB.

Shipping to Europe ran smoothly and quickly enough.

There could be more documentation especially what voltage levels are allowed on the I²C lines, in case the supply voltage is 3.3V or 5.0V.
The I²C address is fixed and can not be changed.

Works great! Needs caps on input voltage supply

For WiFi Packet Monitor (Preflashed D-duino-B)

This product works great to monitor wifi packets. The cable/connector I used with it was a bit iffy, so the thing kept rebooting. I added some electrolytic caps across the 5 V input and 3.3 volt power rails to hold up the voltage when the power connector/cable interface blips the input voltage. Works like a champ! The caps were easy to add because the 5 and 3.3 volt lines come out onto through hole connections on the side.

Documentation.... Hmmm... I need to look up some docs on it. None came with it.

Poor Delivery

Perfect bundle

For D-duino-32(ESP32&0.96OLED display)

The esp32 bundled with a 1306 is a perfect match. I definitely recomend this product. Console output is great but sometimes you want to make output available when you dont have the serial console attached. This one works just fine for that. I only used this with the esp-idf but have had no problems with it.

Very good product, well integrated

For D-duino V2(Arduino&NodeMCU&ESP8266&0.96OLED)

Well integrated module working flawlessly.
Shipping was perfect : sent two times because the first time I never received the product.
Communication is perfect too : Travis Lin answer very fast and is very kind.

Documentation however is almost missing.
You have 10 lines of explanations and that's it.
General documentation is very low. Instructables are cool but also lacks of clear instructions.
No documentation about how to handle the device as an arduino.
Documentation about hardware is not complete (what is the screen exactly for example (resolution, UCG/U8G model)).

Well, it's not that hard so almost everyone would do it.

But no sorry, this device is not a platform for beginners to learn coding. Because to be so, documentation must be improved.

Flasher program giving Trojan:Win32/Spursint.A!cl warning!

I just got this lovely board a few days ago, and started to go through the FAQ. I downloaded the ESPFlasher on your site as well as the driver, but my Microsoft Security Essentials flagged the Flasher as having a Trojan infection. Trojan:Win32/Spursint.A!cl is what it came up with!

Category: Trojan

Description: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

Recommended action: Remove this software immediately.

I'll try getting the Flasher from Espressif and see if that's ok. But you should be aware that your copy may have been compromised...or there is a false positive you need to be aware of and mark it accordingly!

I tested the file on my site. It is OK and safe. I think it is the Microsoft Essentials' problem.
