Perfect - robust and extremely light paddle for portable ops

I am a keen CW op who enjoys setting up portable in all locations and all weather, so am often out on the beach getting covered in sea spray, or on the hills and in the woods in wind, rain and mud. In all these scenarios I have a fear of BaMaKey TP-III getting crap inside it and causing trouble, so I set out to find an alternative that might mean I can allay some of that fear.
Having read about the VK3IL pressure paddle, I realised this is probably the solution. I'm not really in a position to build my own, but saw through the SOTA reflector that Owen M0KVI was assembling and selling them via Tindie, and I had read very good things about his work. I dropped Owen a line, we had a chat, and I was sold on buying one from him through his Tindie. It arrived within just a couple of days of ordering, and I am so pleased to be able to confirm that the quality of construction is spot on, and the paddle is a delight to use. I was expecting to have to spend time getting used to it after using the TP-III; however, this was not the case for me - it was dead easy straight away.
