This is great, works well, surprisingly easy to set up. Once you've got your head around the controls it's fairly easy to edit. It would be great if the instructions came in English (although to be fair maybe the shipper does have English instructions but saw my German address and assumed I would prefer German, which would be a totally reasonable assumption). Anyway it's been really inspiring and lots of fun to mess around with.

Amazing tool!

Very fast shipping within Germany, it arrived the next day! Got it as a present so I can't really write a detailed review but it definitely works! It's really amazing to be able to listen to the plants and it's definitely a great tool to get a bit more creative with creating music.
I added a specific shade of green (that was included in the table) in the comment section at check-out because there was no custom colour option. I just got a normal green one, which isn't really a big deal but I thought I would mention it.

interesting generative instrument

Works well with software synths on pc and ios, as well as hardware synths. Good build quality.
The only thing that is missing, and would be nice to have is tempo control.

It's really very experimental part to my music to have a device that let the plants speak!
The only thing I really want to about this to be better it was a connection for external power adapter and better case!

But by the way it's excellent gear. that really I don't test only to plants, i test this everywhere 🤓

I love it!

For MIDI Biodata Sonification Device v2.1

Bio Sonification Device v2.1 is working wonderful! The only obstacle which I had was to find a good appropriate cable, enough long when I am outdoors, otherwise, the device was wonderful also with my studio experiments.

I wanted to try, if it works also with MIDI DIN-5 to USB 2.0./USB-C adapeter. Do anyone can share any experiences and suggestions how it was working with this kind of adapter.

Nice idea with room for improvement

For MIDI Biodata Sonification Device v2.1

I had come across the original MIDI Sprout some time ago. But it took a search on Tindie that turned up this interesting little device.
In short, yes, it does produce MIDI note ouput by measuring the electrical current between the two electrodes that are attached to plants. It can output the notes into four different scales, and that is quite limited. I wonder if it would be possible to add additional scales in some future software update.
The other upgrade that I’d wish to see on the MIDI Biodata Sonification Device would be a direct USB MIDI output. You can buy a cheap DIN to USB cable separately for sure, but a built in USB output would be very handy.

TRNG random number Generator

For Infinite Noise TRNG True Random Number Generator

Arrived promply and in good condition after shipping from Germany. The device is the size of a memory stick and plugs into a USB port. It arrived with a small pamphlet giving instrution. Download a driver from the Internet and you are good to go.
I haven't (yet) run any statistical tests to determine if the data are truely random, but informal inspection suggests all is good.

Almost perfect

For Some spare PCBs

Beautiful boards. One star deducted because it would appear two revisions of the board exist (minor tweaks, just a few parts added). I have no problems with this and perhaps I just missed the information but seller should indicate rev 1 boards.

Fantastic product, wonderful service, VERY fast shipping.. I just got a bit confused when the boards didn't match most of the pictures online. No harm no foul.. Just needs a tiny bit more info in post.

The pads can be removed more easily with a bit of (soap-)water. You can also wash&reuse them quite often.

Great Product

For MIDI Biodata Sonification Device v2.1

I love this product, it is truly amazing to hear the plants make music. So far I have recorded a few house plants plus the Oak tree in the garden, each plant is different and the Oak tree was incredible you could tell it was a tree by the music it made, a mix of high and really deep notes. I am a beginner at this sort of thing but was able to set up the device and got it working almost straight away. To connect it to your computer you need an adapter, Manuel, the seller, was really helpful in explaining the type of adapter I needed, midi to usb, and I found a cheap one on Amazon which works just fine.

The next thing was software for my computer, again I'm not an expert on midi software, I found a very simple system called MidiEditor, free to download, which plays the music, you can choose which instrument you wish to use and you can record the sounds. The software is limited but it's great for beginners like me. I have even made a few cds for personal use by converting the midi file online to mp3 and then editing it a little in Audacity (free music editing software) adding a bit of reverb for effect etc.

I gave shipping 4 stars because the German post mis-sorted my package, it happens, but Manuel was there chasing it up, he was extremely helpful.

I would definitely buy this product again, in fact I may well do, so I can hear 2 plants at the same time.

Brilliant piece of kit

For MIDI Biodata Sonification Device

This is a great little board, now you can discover the sonic world of plants and even yourself, you become the synth controller using the natural rhythms of your body. A great tool for discovering new sonic worlds. I cannot leave a review without saying how good Manuel was there were some issues with my first board (probably my fault) and he was absolutely brilliant in getting every thing sorted and up and running.
