Adapter arrived on time and was packed well. I inserted the O-ring, attached the adapter to the co2 line, attached it to the sodastream, and turned the tank on. POP
Maybe plastic isn't a great idea after all. Went out to target and grabbed an old Fizzi unit - used the metal adapter that came with the line I bought on amazon. Works great, lesson learned

The adapter shouldn't be under pressure when you open the valve on your tank. From your description, it sounds like you skipped the step where you need to trim the plunger to the correct length for your setup.
None of that is important. When someone's adapter doesn't work, I always offer a refund. Your review doesn't give me enough information to refund the correct person, so if you'd send me a message I will get that taken care of right away!
