HONEST PRODUCT, GREAT FOR THE PRICE
For STM8 BASIC
I´m a newbie into the computing world, so be advised that my opinion is far from being technical.
The boards came in a simple envelope, but with no damage (quite a trip from Alaska to Spain).
I bought the STM8 (in both flavours, BE and CBE) because I was curious about the compact basic language but wanted something to interact with, not just write code but been able to use it in the same way you can do it with any other microcontroller, and although I'm still learning the C.Basic, I must say that there is a lot of fun programming this little thing.
The interface is as simple as possible, but just as other review pointed out, this simplicity makes the STM8, in a way, more user friendly than an Arduino: you just plug the board, launch your terminal and start coding, simple, fast and without dealing with aditional programs.
The total available memory is not big thing, but no surprise here since it is already warned by the seller.
Bearing in mind its limitations but also the low price and the ease of use (due to the Basic and integrated editor) I think that this is an honest product that I wouldn´t hesitate to recommend to anyone feeling curious about microcontrollers but not wanting to deal with C or additional programs like IDEs or text editors.
PS: in order to leave a review, the buyer must fill all the requested fields, but I had no need to communicate with the seller, so my score on that regard is random.
