About

I am a hobbyist interesting in computers from the 1980ies aka "the Golden age of home computers". My favorite is Z80 computers running CP/M.

In early 2018 I bought the RC2014 classic. I was not able to make it run after assembly. This was most likely due to my soldering skill, bad equipment and lack of knowledge. After extensive troubleshooting I gave up, but instead started designing my own compatible modules. After some trial and error I got a working system. During the spring 2018 I got hooked on designing modules compatible with RC2014 ecosystem.
Other users asked me to share the design files which was quite easy since I used EasyEDA, most of my designs are shared publicly.

I have since made many cpu modules (Z80, Z180 and Z280), memory modules (32k, 64k and 512k RAM), communication modules (Z80 SIO/2, MC68B50, Z80 KIO) memory modules, storage modules (CF card) and modules combining several functions.

I got many requests to buy my PCBs so I started selling complete and partial kits in April 2019.

Need RomWBW for 40-pin bus? This is what you need!

For #65 Memory Module (512k RAM + 512k ROM)

At the time of writing this review I have already bought two of these modules over a period of about nine (9) months. If you need RomWBW firmware (and if you are serious about RC2014 you will need it at some point - trust me!) this module kit once again is a very reliable, cost efficient and simply good product made by RottenSnow. One of these modules is powering the world's one and only (at the time of writing: November 2021) RC2014 based and CP/M driven bulletin boards in the world, "RC-BOX" (rc2014.ddns.net:2014 - Telnet only!) - and it runs and runs and runs ...

To sum it up: you need RomWBW at a decent price and live in EU mainland? Then this module is exactly what you are looking for!

Excellent kit, very useful to run CPM in the SC114 kit.

For #61 The Missing Module (serial & storage)

The shipment arrived perfect. i purchase the kit for use with the Z80 SC114 board.
I received a new board design that has an error in the component mask: U2 has the 74HCT32 and U4 the 74HCT02 (inverted designation).
Fixed this error works perfect.
Very good quality, recommended.

Shipment was fast (10 day from Norway to Czechia), small differences against documentation, product works OK (additional COM port to SC126 for connection of Geoff`s terminal).

Excellent product

For Storage Module using Compact Flash

Thank you very much for this great product. No problem soldering the kit or powering it up. It took a little bit of time until I discovered that I have to setup the address 0x10 for it to work with SC114 board, but this is because I usually read the documentation only when something does not work :)))).
Keep up the good work!
