I love this kit

For Fidget Spinner Eurorack LFO Oscillator SpinnerLFO

I'm just getting into eurorack and as a beginner this was pretty straightforward for me and it's fun to play with (I can actually get oscillations fast enough from this thing to hear it on my studio subwoofer). Only thing I wasn't sure on was the orientation of the double bass pickups during assembly and support was quick and helpful (the answer is that orientation does not matter as the spinner is not symmetrical thus there won't be any phasing effects observed and to experiment with placement if needed)

Fantastic device - works like a charm

I haven't done too much soldering recently, so that was a b#$%^ to get through, but once done, it works perfectly. I've got midi coming from my computer and from a midi controller going to 5 synths. The signal merging works flawlessly, and now I can have my DAW-less setup and my DAW when I want it without manually re-routing things.

Everything was very well packaged and assembly was easy with the well designed PCB. This was my first Tindie purchase and I absolutely love that there was a midi board with exactly the IO I needed and so much cheaper than going down the commercial device route.

Love open hardware

For MIDI Thru 1in -> 10out splitter PCB or a Kit

It's both affordable and open hardware, very generous of the creator. Two thoughts I would share:

- The power is center-positive which is a bummer. Basically all guitar pedals and a lot of music gear runs on 9V center-negative, so you can't use your 1 Spot on this. Luckily I happened to have a 9V center-positive so it's not a big deal, but I'm worried I'll forget one of these days. Hope it has protection against reverse polarity!
- One of the ICs I received was bad. Luckily these are super common/cheap ICs; like $1 at Radioshack. I happened to have some lying around and since swapping the ICs I've had no issues.

Despite these issues: 5 stars. A MIDI splitter I can grow into at a fraction of the cost from pre-build solutions. Thank you for sharing your work with the community!

Delightfully over-the-top for what I had in mind...

…but so glad I ordered this kit. I dove head-first into some serious MIDI snooping / message manipulation in what might be a very foolish and naïve attempt to fine-tune the streams to multiple synths. I have no idea if what I want to do is going to work but even if all I end up with is a custom-built 8-way merger, I'll be happy. Assembly was absolutely straight-forward and I love how complete and well placed the components are. I'm looking forward to tinkering with the firmware once I finish verifying everything is working. Thank you!

Easy to solder and works perfectly

For MIDI MERGER / SPLITTER 2in->5out Thru PCB or Kit

To solder this midi merger you don’t need advanced skills. It is very well explained and I finished it in about one hour.
I made a mistake and pushed one opto coupler in wrong direction into the socket. This destroyed the coupler. Deftaudio helped me finding the mistake and I bought a new coupler at an electronic store for about 1€ (1$). Now everything works fine and I can midi-control my Synths with two sources (sequencer and Keyboard).
Thanks for the help and this great device for a very good price.

Great product

I received the Raspberry Pi faceplate in good shape. Assembly can get a bit tricky with the suggested method of drilling through the Pi heatsink, but the video instructions are quite clear. This is a diy project so you have to know what you’re getting into. Apart from that, it pretty much works as advertised.

The kit is great, easy to achieve, works all fine.
Used into my guitar rig to merge Midi Output (giving midi tempo) and Thru of an eventide to the other FX procs.
The only this I'd suggest would be to modify the PSU input with Negative on center and positive outside like most of the guitar pedals of the industry.

A high quality DIY Eurorack Midi Thru kit in just 2hp! WOW!

For Eurorack MIDI TRS Thru 1in -> 4out midithru

The PCB board is clearly laid out, all components were included in the kit (and the shop meticulously checked off each component in the provided documentation).
High quality silk screen on the PCB and the PCB based faceplate of the eurorack TRS Thru module.
The documentation is fantastic, schematics are included, hi-res detailed images, the BOM, its all available and clearly organized on GitHub.
It took me about 2 hours to solder and put together the kit. Make sure to use flux!

If I had any recommendation for an improvement, it would be for the shop to use an aluminum face plate rather than a PCB one, as PCB ones have a little bit of flex. Although in my case this is not an issue, as normally I don't usually switch out the MIDI out cables from my eurorack kit.

I highly recommend this shop, and this product! Its high quality, quickly shipped, and the proprietor answers messages quickly!

This is an excellent expansion board! Again as in another product review, this works with some of the most expensive midi controlled Audio gear (that claim you have to use their splitters/boards/pedals only (maybe for warranty but not for operation).

There is just something good to be said about better, non proprietary, fair and lower priced equipment!

Can I say enough? Excelent product

For MacroPot deeply programmable MIDI controller Kit

I will be buying more of these. I am using them for MIDI interface on Guitar Rigs and Audio equipment. This has interfaced well with everything I have tried.
I, myself, helped write some of the Midi code back in the late 70's what I would have given for something like this back then!

Deft audio has an awesome non proprietary system that works well even when interfacing WAY More expensive proprietary systems.

The online videos are excellent for the visually inclined and the printed instructions are easy and accurate. Make sure you read carefully this is electronics after all!

Some have claimed they have trouble contacting DeftAudio. I have had no trouble at all! And they have been exceedingly helpful.

Up and running!

Delivery was quick, packaging was good.

The design is thoughtful, clean, and will generalize to any number of applications.

Assembly was very simple and straightforward. Had it completed the afternoon I received it.
I was able to get the demo code provided on github running right away. No hassle.
(note: I have some experience with both PCB assembly and with Arduino/microcontroller devices)

I don't have an opinion on documentation as I didn't actually look for any...
Same with communication -- I did not have to reach out for guidance, assistance, or other information.
I am leaving these fields at 5 stars because they were effectively non-issues, and this is very good, imo.

Would have happily purchased the acrylic panel covers had they been available.
Will happily purchase other items from Deftaudio in the future.

Tested, works great. I have few synths that that don't have midi thru/out... This solved the problem perfectly.

Great product, excellent quality

This was a fairly easy build. The build took somewhere about an hour, including my son soldering the DIN sockets. The only mistake I make by not reading the minor instructions was mounting the leds the wrong way. I mounted the board in an wooden stand that houses 8 Roland Boutique units, no cable mess anymore now.

This is an excellent kit. It was delivered quickly and the build documentation is very good. It's an easy build even for a beginner but still looks and feels very pro. I had a couple of questions for Andrei and he got back to me right away with the info I needed. To complete the build I bought an 12"x12" acrylic sheet and some nylon M3 standoffs on Amazon for a few dollars and cut the sheet with a metal ruler and sharp utility knife. Looks scary but it's easy! Absolutely recommend this kit!
