The board quality is better than I expected for the cost. They are far superior to any of the paper (phenolic) proto boards on the market and they provide very good functionality, especially the AVR Tiny proto boards. My only wish would be a partial schematic that shows what the interconnects are for boards like the ATiny85 2x2 board or the monster 4x4 board for the AT328 mini Arduino. While I can always trace it out and see what goes where, it would be nice to see it in schematic form. While I understand that it isn't needed for the pure hole only boards, the boards with specific component locations can be time consuming to trace out. The online documentation, while very good, would be excellent with the addition of partial schematics where appropriate.

nice boards

For RN2483 breakout (bare board)

I ordered 3 boards. They came in pretty quickly and are looking very nice. I like them a lot.

Soldered each of them, although I must admit that I'm no soldering king/ queen overall three pcb soldering patches got loose pretty easily. One of them was the 868 MHz antenna center patch... So now I'm left to soldering the antenna to the RN2483 directly.

Still a very nice pcb to order.

Hi - thanks for buying, and thanks for letting me know about your experience here

I just tried to reproduce pad lifting issues. I soldered a wire onto the pad, resting the soldering iron on the pad for far longer than usual (to simulate very poor soldering technique), and afterwards, I yanked pretty hard on the wire. I wasn't able to pull it off with any realistic amount of force.

Since you saw this on multiple boards, not just one, I'm inclined to suspect that your issue is largely one of equipment - namely your soldering iron. One of the easiest ways to lift pads is by using a soldering iron that's getting too hot (often because it's not temperature controlled). I tested this by cranking the temperature on my iron up to 850 (instead of 700) - and then, leaving the iron on the pad for a while, and then pulling on the wire, I was able to get the pad to pop off, which supports this theory. So - is your soldering iron temperature controlled? If not, I wager that's probably what caused the pads to lift. I recommend temperatures no higher than 700 when assembling boards (higher temps are great for salvaging parts from a board you don't care about).

All work

For Simple SOT-23 MOSFET (six-pack, logic level)

I purchased three different mosfets from the list. I found all to work. They appear to be indestructible.

They are color coded, yet you have to be a bit careful with the colors.

My only complaint is that the current carrying capability (multiple amps) deserve a larger pad and hold spacing for screw terminals.

Thanks for the feedback - My next production batch will include thicker traces and larger pads to better accommodate high current and help with heat dissipation.

great little board for experimenters

I like how the board lends itself to various types or chips...seller is very knowlegable and adept...the shipment packaging was a bit ghetto, but if that keeps the costs down im all for it.

I do wish there was an option to buy the board populated with the SMD PS / Reg soldered in place and tested, i would certainly buy more if that were possible

Tested my prototype software without any problems

For ATtiny1634 dev. board w/Optiboot (assembled)

Used this board to check software I had written for a system including an SD card and UART, using avr-gcc. Everything worked fine, just as the really-tiny ATtiny1634 package on my final circuit board. A schematic would have been appreciated, but I managed in any case. The 20pin SOIC was large enough to probe, not like the 4mm square package of the actual production chip we used. Excellent product, with a well-thought-out 6pin SPI connector and voltage regulator.

I wish I had this a few weeks ago... This is well thought out & great for prototyping with thru hole or surface mount parts.
Power options are there for you to use, or not. Really; it's got a lot of useful options, on both sides of the board.
Get 2, one for whatever you're thinking about working on and an extra one -- don't get stuck w/o one handy.

Th e only nick is on Documentation -- I would have liked to see a 'recommended' parts list; but if you have been doing "bare arduino's" this should be no problem for you.

For ATtiny1634 dev. board w/Optiboot (assembled)

I was excited when I got DrAzzy's 1634 (bare) board -- I set out to build one to hone some surface-mounting skills The result was a working unit! I used the (on advice) cheapest parts I could find. (I built 4, with 1 failure).

I was ready for some more 1634's but I still wasn't feeling good abut the failed one - Then I saw DrAzzy had populated boards; the cost just wasn't that hard to take considering how long it took me to solder it up.. (I know practice practice and more practice)

My advice: If you want to learn to surface mount solder -- get the bare board -- spacing is nice and forgiving -- if you want to "get on with it" and program and use the board, get his optiboot versions. Either way, you won't be sorry you did.

Support/questions/answers are very easy and quick...

Awesome little board!

For ATTiny1634 breakout w/serial header (bare board)

The board is well done with good silk screening. However, some of the letters are right where there are thru hole or solder points are, so it's hard to read; but there's good documentation... A photo of the completed unit along with a parts list is really all you need.
I was able to get all parts thru mouser.com -- the only other way it could have been easier is if there was a "mouser project" (or other site... I'm not affiliated with mouser) so you could just say "Buy 2 kits".

There is good space available, which is important if you're just starting out in the surface-mount world. Plan out everything and you should be good.

the 1634 (or 834 for that matter) are great little boards, and often overlooked by builders looking for just the right amount of horsepower for the job.

Shipping was very prompt, arrived in only a few days. (Not sure how to rate communication, it was ok... If there was a "not applicable" option, I think that would have been a better choice.

All in all -- very happy / satisfied. I like supporting small business, so that was a bonus too.
