My Build
For WiFiChron alarm clock kit
I enjoyed the kit! I really like the display but didn't realize it was so small. Since it was a combination boards using Thru-hole and SMD parts it went together really quickly and not too many parts as well. Think it took me 20~30 mins to get the clock powered up. The clock it self, once I got the suggested case from Mouser.com it fit as he said but needed a small adjustment, other than that it looks very nice and will look good next to my other built kits of other digital clocks I have made over the years.
I ended up buying the WiFi ESP8266 separate from the kit which ended up being a nightmare to say the least. Since I bought separate from the kit programming WiFi Module was a nightmare and was not the kits fault. I ended up with three modules now and none of them working. There are too many different instructions and conflicting information on how to restore the modules to factory condition and still have not got my clock online yet. If anyone knows how to help restore the WiFi ESP8266EX Modules please get hold of me. I even sent a message to the manufacture and tried there suggestion with no luck. I wish I had bought the whole kit including the WiFi module from him in the first place, would have saved me days of messing with it and a working WifiChron Clock Online.
Despite the trouble with the WiFi Module, It will be a nice addition to my collection!
