Ordering was the usual tindie.com-process: nothing out of the ordinary. florinc hit a little snag in shipping, outside of his control, but he communicated clearly about the issue and the impact, so full points there. Building was a breeze, I found a neat enclosure. The only possible critisism is the slightly chaotic documentation. Now for the next step: giving this little clock a GPS-DO oscillator.

The clock looks gorgeous and building it was a pleasure.
The only problem? The documentation is a little bit chaotic and it's difficult to find what you are looking for.
The email support from the seller is also excellent.

Nice little clock

For OLED clock shield kit for ProMini

Nice clock kit although it could use a little documentation. However, designer provides excellent support. I had a bad clock chip which he assisted troubleshooting and provide a replacement. It requires externally supplied 5 volts to support the clock chip which makes battery operation unpractical. However, it is easy to build and a neat, small clock. I may try replacing the clock chip with a lower power version and add a battery for a standalone clock. Thats the fun of open source hardware and software. All in all I am satisfied and with the support the designer provides makes this a project worth purchasing.

The hardware on this board is well-designed. Although I'm not experienced at SMT soldering, I found it relatively easy to do on this board, since the board layout provides plenty of room.

The Source Code link provides all the files you need to build the project - no need to go hunting for libraries to download.

Overall, nice hardware design, fun build, and that bubble display looks even cooler in person!
