Did not line up with solder points
For USB-C Mod for Nintendo 3DS (all models)
The tool did not line up the contacts properly and ended up breaking halfway through leaving stray plastic inside the port.
My 3ds' motherboard is fried

Hello,
If you wish, you can open a ticket regarding your order, from there you will be able to attach images of your installation and I will try to help as much as possible. Your 3DS shouldn't be fried unless there has been some short circuit, and if so, most likely only the protection fuse has been affected.
Perhaps you missed a step from the installation guide since you are the first customer to encounter problems after more than 600 units sold.
