I play a game where the company manufactures collectible pins with NFC tags that give you things in the game. On iPhone 15, it picks them up pretty easily. On switch it rarely ever picks it up. So I tried embedding this inside the right joycon near NFC antenna. It didn’t do anything to help, but realized i put it in on wrong side. The Nintendo Pro Controller has the nfc antenna built into the underside of the motherboard! No wonder even real Amiibo have trouble reading. I embedded this inside the pro controller on the topside of the motherboard. Now Amiibo pick up instantly when over the screen capture button. Ill try again with the joycon, but have it in the correct position. I have an android phone and that barely picks up these pin tags too. So I put this antenna between the case and the phone in the android, and now it makes it work as well as the iPhone 15… so the amplifier does work. I guess it depends on the reader and the type of tags also.
