Worth the modest cost for hassle free interfacing

For Debug Board USB to RS232 Isolated Serial Converter

Nice to have the confidence of a real FTDI chip with worry free level level switching and isolation. Very handy that Debug Board shows with detail when listing devices on USB ports. Had one kicking around for a while and bailed us out when upgrading from a Raspberry Pi4 to RPi5 in an application involving serial communication with a microcontroller. Unlike the RPi4, the RPi5 did not want to play easily with serial through the GPIO; popped in the Debug Board had we were up and running through a USB port in no time. Only "problem" is now have to order a couple more!

This is a beautiful well engineered product

For RGB LED Ring v1.1

The RGB Rings that I purchased performed perfectly, and wow - do they look great! This is a super professional product with really tiny RGB LEDs. This shop had great communications, and they even provided some sample code to get me up and running quickly. They have a new smaller ring now, so I will be back for more!

Fantastic product with great documentation and easy to use.

If I could give these 10 stars, I would. I do a lot of amateur radio project and need encoders for tuning and controlling settings. It gets expensive (both in monetary terms and I/O pins) to use A/B rotary encoders, and still not have the functionality that you do with these. If your working on a project that needs more than a few rotary encoders, I can't recommend these enough.

Great variety in sizes and styles

I’m really glad I found these knobs. There aren’t a lot of encoder knobs out there that let light through, and many of them don’t fit the style I’m going for. These knobs work and look great. Prompt shipping from the seller too.

A great led ring.

For RGB LED Ring v1.1

There aren't many like this RGB led ring. What makes it special is the 2x2mm led dots which are small enough to prevent visual aliasing.
When the ring is animated, transitions are smooth and colors are vibrant!
I am really satisfied with this product. It has performed very well for me.
One tiny nitpick: enlarging the central hole by 1 or 2 mm would make it even better for the type of encoder I use.
Also I would love a 64 rgb led version of this ring.

When there's a problem, that's when you find out what kind of person you're dealing with. In this case, I found DUPPA to be the best sort of vendor - one who corrects the problem quickly and without fuss.

The boards, knobs, and encoders are very nice, but it was the excellent customer service that ensures I'll be back.

I got a set of the ringed black aluminum knobs, and they look so good with LEDs shining through. If you're wondering if the light diffuses evenly around the whole ring: Yes! Just like in the photos. These knobs have already elevated the look my latest project enclosure. :)

Great stuff

For Debug Board USB to UART with Voltage Translator

I have been looking a long time for a USB-Serial cable that works at 1.2V signal voltage for use with FPGAs. Most USB-Serial cables work at 5V or 3.3V signal voltage. FDTI have a cable that works down to 1.8V, but not lower. It would of course be possible to design some kind of voltage converter to sit between the USB-Serial cable and the FPGA, but it is a little bit of hazzle. Why is isn't there a cable that has the voltage converter built-in, I thought, and googled a lot. Finally I happened to find the correct combination of key words for Google, and ended up Duppa. Hint to Duppa: add tags 1.2V, 2.5V, 2.8V etc to your web site, and I would probably have found you a long time ago.

I bought a couple of USB to Uart with Voltage Translator. I have tested with an FPGA at 1.2V signal voltage, and at bit rates 115.2 kbit/s and 3Mbit/s. It works perfectly. Recommended!

Sweet and Touchable

For Knobs for RGB Encoder

This would be one of those reviews which could easily turn to double entendre, but seriously these are some sweet knobs which are working well in current projects. The knurled big black and silver aluminium knobs are especially touchable and really add a touch of class to a project.

Excellent product but no longer communicates

For I2C Encoder Mini

I have ordered a reasonable number of the I2C Encoder Minis and also the I2C Encoder V2.1. They usually work very well indeed and are excellent value.

However, I had a problem with and I2C Encoder Mini with a specific 360ppr encoder I want to use in a project.

I could not see any problems with my encoder on the 'scope so I emailed the designer twice; once from the Tindie website and also from his own duppa.net website. Now, one month later I have had no reply.

I planned to use a lot more of these encoders but those plans are on-hold as I am worried about the long term viability of the project.

Anyway the problem can be that the frequency of A/B signals of a 360ppr encoder it's a bit high. In the datasheet is specified the maximum frequency.

Great product

For RGB LED Ring v1.1

This RGB LED Ring is compact and is considered to be combined with I2C Encoder, and it has both color and brightness.
It fits my purpose.
Being in color, going around, being compact, Arduino library
It is relatively easy to operate using.

Other LED rings using WS2812 are mainstream, but they are too large and spaced too far apart.
So I was looking for another product.

However, in the case of operation with Arduino, it is necessary to pay attention to exclusive processing and interrupt processing.
Ingenuity is required to process multiple LED Rings and LED Encoders.

I'm currently working on a library for my use with Teensy 4.0.
I ordered 4 sets, but my goal is to make a MIDI controller with 8 sets in the end.

Marvellous

For I2CEncoder V2.1 Connect rotary encoder on I2C bus

I've bought over a dozen of these (original version and the recent 2.1 version). They work a treat with my arduino projects. My one niggle is the lack of a java library (specifically Processing 3 GUI on a RPi) - and as a bit of a noob I'm struggling to get them to work. Perhaps someone out there could point me in the right direction?

Good product

Hello,
I am working on a INA3221 mesurement system with a Wemos D1 ESP8266 as the mpu and a TFT 2.4” color display for the GUI. Using a menu system with a rotary switch the ESP lacks available pins so i was looking for an alternative.
I found this I2C mini board. I ordered some for evaluation. They arrived in due time and they look very well manufacrured.
Evaluated the available software and it worked flawless. Right now i have integrated the mini I2C rotary in my INA box and made the software fit with the new rotary board. Sofar its working ok.
I really can recommend this rotary board especially if you lack available pins on your mpu.
Its well manufactured, has good documentation, working software and fair pricing 👍👍

Nice product for general purpose

Honestly this is not my first order (I've tried the old V2 earlier), so no big surprise. I will use this gadet in a DIY ultrasonic humidifier as adjustment knob and I2C splitter for BME280 (humidity measurement). It will be great, if we can order knurled (K) rotary instead of flattered (F) D-axis.

Nice product for general purpose

For I2C Encoder Mini

Mini is more than enough for almost all projects, however I love the v2.1 becuase you can use as I2C splitter as well (and works with RGB rotary for sure). Anyway, the layout of the mini is a little bit smaller, so if you have very limited space it's a good choice.

For PCB Badge Holder v3

Way better than my old plastic badge holder: stronger, thinner, prettier!

Work like a charm on all doors I used it (I think my badge even work better than before, I do not need to touch the receiver and wait for at least 2s, just passing my badge a few centimetres over the receiver is enough ; maybe a good side effect of PCB tracks?)

It's so good that I ordered another one for me for my second badge, and 2 more for jealous workmate. I received them today.
Delivery was quicker than I thought for standard shipping to another country (maybe because I'm in France, near the Italian border). I passed both of my order on Sunday, packages were sent on Monday, and I received it on the next Monday.

Beautiful product & ingenious idea, but has one small issue

For PCB Badge Holder v3

I'm continuously amazed by how cool this looks. It's so much better than my boring old plastic badge holder. The only problem is that it blocks my badge's RFID access in one particular door in my office building. I don't know if its the fake antenna on the PCB or just the copper that throws it off, but I need to remove my badge to get into that door. Even with this slight annoyance, I'm still rocking this badge holder.

Super cool product!

For PCB Badge Holder v3

This badge holder is awesome! As a PCB Designer, I'm sure it will be the envy of the other designers at work, and even people who aren't in our department :) I could have designed this myself, but Duppa did an excellent job already, so why redesign the wheel? Plus, he sent it already assembled (all 3 layers arrived glued together) so all I had to do was put my badge inside. Great product!

A really smart product idea for I2C based panel controls.

For I2CEncoder V2.1 Connect rotary encoder on I2C bus

I was in the process of developing something similar to this for a project which involves a large number of panel controls. Looking at the specification and the price I immediately halted my project and ordered a dozen of these!

My units are V2.1 which do have some features that I was looking for such as relative / absolute steps and programmable interrupt source.

My original use for these was a simple I2C addressable encoder interface but these offer much more...

The first added bonus is the full programmability of LEDS. These are great for user feedback.

The second bonus is three extra I/O pins which can individually be used as inputs, PWM o/p and 8 bit analogue input. The analogue input feature is a real bonus as I also have a need for reading some 10K ohm panel potentiometers.

The physical footprint is really small and the connector layout lends itself to easy daisy chaining.

And finally, they are ok for 3.3 and 5 volts with a low idle current (<2mA) that will allow me to create a persistent panel even when the rest of the system is powered off by using a single 18650 battery.

As part of a persistence philosophy you can also store values in the on-board addressable EEPROM which has two banks or 128 bytes.

If you are making any form of control panel which features rotary controls with, or without, LED feedback then this is the best solution that I know of.

I am going to order some more soon for sure.

Really well produced item

For I2C NavKey: 7 functions joypad on the I2C bus

I bought three of these. Only needed one, but buying only one the shipping would be more than the goods itself.
I am glad I did, because I will make use of the extra two for sure.
These are really well produced items and the documentation is spot on.
I had a small issue with getting the correct data from the joypad, but it turned out not to be the joypad, but the connected hardware.
I did write a mail to Simone before discovering that and the response was there the day after, explaining that the problem I encountered had been tested and could not be reproduced, so it had to be something other than the jaypad - and it was.
Very good service - I highly recommend this item.

This is really a must have.

i am a newbie with soldering stuff and I Don't have the Equipment, so i had to ask a pro to do it for me.
Maybe the only thing that could be better is to propose an option to solder everything (with an additionnal fee of course).
(I know it's not recommendend for packaging)

Except that, everything works fine, shipping is also good.

I have rewritten the librairy in .net core (c#), it's pretty simple. I will try to propose it in the GitHub once i've finished.

Nice product, exactly what I need

I've limited number of wires (and GPIO pins) in my room thermostat project, and all the sensors and the display is hanging on I2C, so I was looking for an I2C input device and found the best. Unfortunately I've killed the firts one with reverse polarity, so be careful. Rotary was never so easy, working with tasking without any interrupt handling.

Useful way to incorporate an encoder with minimum pins

For I2CEncoder V2 Connect multiple encoder on I2C bus

This is a low cost method of incorporating an encoder with RGB or with an RGB LED for the minimum number of pins ( 2 or 3) and without loss of responsiveness if using a low end micro controller.

Getting it working was not exactly painless as it is easier to find the V1 Arduino libraries than the V2 version but once working it is easy to control LEDs and encoder interactions. It is also possible to use it without the library making for very compact code.

Shipping was inexpensive but did not win prizes for rapidity. However receiving and unboxing the encoder was a mini-joy: the shipment arrived safely in a small padded bag. Inside was a sturdy but really micro-sized cardboard box complete with the board, RGB encoder, knob, RGB LED, male and female right-angled headers and pullup resistors presoldered plus a small but nicely conceived compliments slip.

Boards can be purchased without the pullup resistors but these are essential and a better system would be to include them on all boards with a solder jumper to bypass them. This might increase production costs slightly but would improve flexibility and easy of use.
