Integrated WH-UX09HE8 / WH-ADC0916H9E8 with Loxone

For HeishaMon communication PCB

I successfully integrated the heat pump mentioned in the subject with the help of Heishamon into Loxone.
So far I was able to read all the values out of the Heat Pump and display in Loxone. Currently I'm just reading the values and using it in my home heating automation system.
Large version PCB perfectly fits into UM100S (100*100 mm) DIN rail PCB holder.
Great product, highly recommended.

Review after year of use: really great product. Stable

Use small board for a year already 24/7. Stable. Works well. Hardware part is very solid! Great communication by author/seller: all questions answered. Software is maintained also very well.
The only one sequrity feature request (for software part, so not direct to this hardware) would be nice: enable open configuration wifi hotspot only when some button is pressed on the board (or double-pressed, etc.); so, only when I'm physically next to my board (not any time when signal lost with my router as for now).
In general: HIGHLY recommend! Will try bigger version with eth port also.

Compatibility with aquarea model M

For HeishaMon communication PCB

Is the large model compatible with the new aquarea M series. I just installed the WH-WXG09ME8 pump with CTAW-1C and smart Cloud which is a bit rudimentary. So I installed the heishamon card with an ethernet module and operated it via home assistant. After some trial and error (I had to power the card via usb) it almost works except for some absurd returns like a completely wacky but repetitive COP and some other measurements that do not correspond at all to expectations or are missing. On the other hand, the statistics of the panasonic cloud are no longer powered even if all the other features via my smartphone work normally. So I guess I have to wait for an update to the M series. Thank you for your great work.
Hello, I am taking the time to analyze the return message from the aquarea M in more detail with the help of my son who is more competent than me. I will come back to the topic as soon as I have more precise information. See you soon.

It's perfect, I had a bit of a hard time to make it talk to Home Assistant. But once i figured out the MQTT Broker and such, it just worked very easily.

Heishamon v5 large - a modders dream

For HeishaMon communication PCB

I was already a proud owner of the smaller v4 Heishamon (HM) version which I used to optimally control my Panasonic 12Kw heatpump (HP). While it did all I wanted, the only thing I really disliked was that it needed to connect through wifi. Due to the physical location of the HP I eventually ended up hanging a router inside the machine that communicated with the HM hanging directly next to it. When I saw there existed a version with Ethernet, it was an instabuy.

Now having the HM v5 large, I think it is even much better due to being larger. The contacts are much easier to reach and it fits perfectly in an ABB box (I could not find an the type mentioned in the description but bought `ABB M008460000` on Amazon which was a perfect fit). Unfortunately, I had the bummer of a defective W5500 unit, the third-party Ethernet shield addon. I replaced it with another and it was plug & play, i.e. I immediately had connection with my network. The HM looks very high quality and I am sure I will be a happy user the coming years.

Great device especially large PCB.

So far I've been using a small version.
When the large version with Ethernet overlay appeared, I bought it.
The solution is awesome.
Now I can additionally leave the original CZ-TAW1 in proxy mode.
Additional two relays is also a very cool option.
Together with the home assistant it creates a perfect solution.

Very good quality and easy setup. Does the thing and does it well!
What might be bit better is the documentation - clean guide with all the modes possible and steps needed would be great for everyday user. But hey - it's a hell of a hardware for the price!
It's should be bundled by default with every Aquarea heat pump!

doubt about how to make the cztaw and large heishamon connec

I have a heishamon small that works very well and I use it in listen only mode. Now I would like to order the large heishamon, but I have a question: How is the physical connection made between the cztaw and the large heishamon?

You connect the cztaw to the heishamon proxy port (the smaller white connector) with the original cztaw cable. If you don't have that anymore you can buy it in the shop (called a CN-CNT cable).
Heishamon to the heatpump connect the same way as the small heishamon. You can use again another CN-CNT cable or use the CN-NMODE cable which is also in the shop.

So, heishamon large will be installed in between of the cztaw and the heatpump

Question about external power supply for the large Heishamon

Hello, i got the large heishamon today and want to use it in proxy mode with the cz-taw1 on my leisha.
At the moment it runs on the internal power supply with data errors, which is probably due to the lack of an external power supply.
If I want to use the large heishamon with an external usb-c power supply, do I also have to remove the 5v cable to the heatpump?

No you can leave it connected. There is a diode protecting it.
However I got noticed that it might factory reset the heishamon board in that situation when the usb power is removed (and still 5v powered from heatpump). I need to check on this but if you keep the usb powered, it will be ok.

Over a year of flawless communication

For HeishaMon communication PCB

My HeishaMon communication PCB is working for over a year now and I never had any problem with it. It dispatches all relevant information of the Panasonic heat pump to my Homeassistant instance via MQTT.

If an Ethernet version would become available, I would buy it without hesitation.

Working on a complete new design currently with faster chip (ESP32-S3) and support for the W5500 ethernet shield which you can plug it on yourself. Hopefully ready within two or three months.

Great product!

Thank you for making this! I use it to save 20-30% on heating portion of the electrical bill by heating only on the cheapest hours.
Although I'm lately been thinking about overall cybersecurity more, so two questions:
1. If my AP is for whatever reason down, anybody seems to be able to connect to the heishamon's SSID becuse it switches automatically to hotspot mode. Can this risk be somehow mitigated?
2. Will there ever be a version with Ethernet port?

1. There is no solution currenty but I could add a setting to set the wifi password for the hotspot. I'll think about this
2. Yes, I am working a that right now. Would probably be a version on which you can plug a ethernet module on.

Great Esp32/RS485 Board

For ESP32-C3 with RS485 modbus and optional touch TFT

I got these to connect to the RS485 on my Deye inverter (using tasmota as a Modbus TCP bridge) and also for my Ecoforest Heatpump (using ESPhome).

Its a lot neater than the separate boards I was using to prototype them on. Very good value.

Amazing open-source product

Worked OOB with my HYD-20KTL inverter. Only the documentation with passive_mode options could be expanded more.
LCD could also print something more useful.

Very useful tool

My Ferrolli Domina F24N's pressure gauge was stuck, so with this I could use an Arduino to get the water pressure among other parameters. Really helpful and easy to use.

perfect interface for a good price.

I've used this interface for over six months. Always worked flawlessly, no issues, disconnections or such like the original Panasonic cloud dongle had.

The kit is very easy to setup, I've printed the box myself and stuck it near the heatpump. I've integrated everything in Home Assistant, archieving a far better control of my aquarea compared to what I could do with the stock cloud. Also, this system does emulate the expansion PCB allowing direct integration of solar systems or further configurations at a very cheap price.

Considering what it takes to properly design a PCB, go through the iterations to make it functional, I think the price the author asks for this module is definitely minute. Thanks for the great work.

Work great for local controller in Home Assistant

Bought this to get rid of the awful panasonic app for my panasonic T-CAP 12 kW air to water heat pump.
The seller was helpfull and provided documentation for integration against Home Assistant.
Installation was plug and play. Setting up in HA was easily done with the provided documentation.

Is it great to have local control and get rid of the awful panasonic app and also have A LOT more information about my heat pump

Instead of sending the data to the manufacturer in China, the product uses MQTT to communicate with the inverter.
Good idea.
With the TFT display, you always have an overview of the solar system and you don't have to look at your cell phone.

Questions are also answered very quickly.

Is there a difference between CN-CNT and CN-NMODE, if I don't have a CZ-TAW1?

No difference. Both connectors on the mainboard of the heatpump are hard wired together (only extra 12v supply missing from the CN-CNT which isn't used).

Amazing product to digitalize your Aquarea

Amazing product amazing communication, with nearly 0 background in home automation was able to connect the heishamon to the unit and was instantly able to get the data. Home assistant part was a little bit more challenging you need to set up MQTT and connect it to it but I was able to finish everything in 30 minutes and now able to see all my data and do inputs from my home assistant, let's hope that it's stable and continues to work like this.

Works without any friction

For Opentherm master shield for Wemos/Lolin

Was able to hook up my Viessmann Vitodens 050 with Opentherm and control it via HomeAssistant in a very short time. Soldering, compiling Tasmota, and wiring things up took less than an hour. Really happy with the outcome. No more running to the boiler and re-adjusting the temperature.

I installed it yesterday together with my heatpump and it worked instantly and flawlessly.
Installation of a mqtt broker and homeassistant on my raspi was far more difficult.
But now everything works together and I am able to check and configure my panasonic with my mobile phone.

First I thought, this would be a nice addition to the "official" device offered by Panasonic ONLY for the Panasonic owned cloud, which eventually will disapper in 10 years, though....
BUT it is a complete nicely made now for almost two month working alternative, if you love mqtt and try to avoid cloud solutions when they don't make sense at all!

Flawless product

For Opentherm master shield for Wemos/Lolin

Really happy with the gadget, my heater likes the controller very mutch.
Struggled a bit with tasmota but wasn't what i wanted, so i used https://github.com/rsciriano/ESPHome-OpenTherm and is perfect (just like an 300 eur thermostat)
Thanks for the effort to bring us this little gadgeds.

Thanks for the review. The ESPHome-opentherm addon is indeed also a good choice for the opentherm master shield. Beware to change the pin numbers in the opentherm_component.h file as described in the readme of the addon. This opentherm shield has different pin numbers than default in that file is configured.

Outstanding work Heishamon team!

For HeishaMon communication PCB

On september 28 I bought Heishamon PCB.
Just wanted to "emulate" optional PCB on my Aquarea J to support a buffer tank.
Now the HP works like a charm. When buffer tank temp reached... it stops.
Last year the internal pump was always running to "test" water temp... with Heishamon and the availability to "emulate" optional PCB this is needed no more.
I'm so satisfied with this product, that I'm buying right now a backup PCB.
