A high quality DIY Eurorack Midi Thru kit in just 2hp! WOW!

For Eurorack MIDI TRS Thru 1in -> 4out midithru

The PCB board is clearly laid out, all components were included in the kit (and the shop meticulously checked off each component in the provided documentation).
High quality silk screen on the PCB and the PCB based faceplate of the eurorack TRS Thru module.
The documentation is fantastic, schematics are included, hi-res detailed images, the BOM, its all available and clearly organized on GitHub.
It took me about 2 hours to solder and put together the kit. Make sure to use flux!

If I had any recommendation for an improvement, it would be for the shop to use an aluminum face plate rather than a PCB one, as PCB ones have a little bit of flex. Although in my case this is not an issue, as normally I don't usually switch out the MIDI out cables from my eurorack kit.

I highly recommend this shop, and this product! Its high quality, quickly shipped, and the proprietor answers messages quickly!

Awesome as always!

This is an excellent expansion board! Again as in another product review, this works with some of the most expensive midi controlled Audio gear (that claim you have to use their splitters/boards/pedals only (maybe for warranty but not for operation).

There is just something good to be said about better, non proprietary, fair and lower priced equipment!

Can I say enough? Excelent product

For MacroPot deeply programmable MIDI controller Kit

I will be buying more of these. I am using them for MIDI interface on Guitar Rigs and Audio equipment. This has interfaced well with everything I have tried.
I, myself, helped write some of the Midi code back in the late 70's what I would have given for something like this back then!

Deft audio has an awesome non proprietary system that works well even when interfacing WAY More expensive proprietary systems.

The online videos are excellent for the visually inclined and the printed instructions are easy and accurate. Make sure you read carefully this is electronics after all!

Some have claimed they have trouble contacting DeftAudio. I have had no trouble at all! And they have been exceedingly helpful.

Simple, Cheap and Works

For MIDI Thru 1in -> 4out splitter PCB or a Kit

This MIDI Thru 1in4 does the job well. I'm not a musician so I can't comment on fidelity, or on longevity, but it works for me just great and don't notice any flaws. The build itself was easy. I appreciate that and it's very low cost, making it easily attainable on a budget.

I have a beatstep pro as a master to the MIDI 1in4, then 4 Thru to 4 other Arturia gear, with sequencers, and a TD-03. I set sync to midi on all devices except the BSP (Int), which allows me to start/stop all other devices, but still control each device's sounds independently. Or change sync and control most everything from the BSP. The 1in4 made this all very easy. I was nervous at first, because I had read of a few issues with getting things synced, but I had no issues and I'm pretty stupid when it comes to music, much less MIDI (I get the gist lol).

Ok, could be better.

For Teensy 4.0 MIDI Breakout board, 5in / 5out, USB

Board ist ok. I modified the Board to comply to the Midi Standard and to be more robust. Used the Board to build my own Midi Interface with Midi merge and several routing options. I added some 5V Open drain Output Logic drivers because to Connect the Controller Pins directly to the connector ist not a good Idea. Added also some components for better EMI. The input optocouplers are not the fastest there are better newer replacements. Added a pull down to the Base of the 2nd Darlington Transistor for faster switching.

Up and running!

Delivery was quick, packaging was good.

The design is thoughtful, clean, and will generalize to any number of applications.

Assembly was very simple and straightforward. Had it completed the afternoon I received it.
I was able to get the demo code provided on github running right away. No hassle.
(note: I have some experience with both PCB assembly and with Arduino/microcontroller devices)

I don't have an opinion on documentation as I didn't actually look for any...
Same with communication -- I did not have to reach out for guidance, assistance, or other information.
I am leaving these fields at 5 stars because they were effectively non-issues, and this is very good, imo.

Would have happily purchased the acrylic panel covers had they been available.
Will happily purchase other items from Deftaudio in the future.

Wanted to upgrade after using a 5 in 1 splitter for the longest time. This kit is great, priced right as well. I swap between my deluge and my midi keyboard controlling my synths with the switches, it's seriously a great kit!

The only sad think that I was over with it in 10-15 minutes. (Very simple kit)
Tested, works great. I have few synths that that don't have midi thru/out... This solved the problem perfectly.

Great product, excellent quality

This was a fairly easy build. The build took somewhere about an hour, including my son soldering the DIN sockets. The only mistake I make by not reading the minor instructions was mounting the leds the wrong way. I mounted the board in an wooden stand that houses 8 Roland Boutique units, no cable mess anymore now.

I am sure it's a good product, I ordered two kits, some of the IC's from the first kit didn't work, so I took chips from the second kit, I got it to work for a short time, but it eventually quit working. The main problem/gripe is that the tinde website wouldn't allow me to contact the seller "privilege restricted". So, if you are kinda new to DIY and might need tech support, I would suggest you go somewhere else, if you are more advanced and can trouble shoot go for it!!!

Useless if not working

This is an excellent kit. It was delivered quickly and the build documentation is very good. It's an easy build even for a beginner but still looks and feels very pro. I had a couple of questions for Andrei and he got back to me right away with the info I needed. To complete the build I bought an 12"x12" acrylic sheet and some nylon M3 standoffs on Amazon for a few dollars and cut the sheet with a metal ruler and sharp utility knife. Looks scary but it's easy! Absolutely recommend this kit!

Excellent product; totally customizeable

For Teensy 3.2 MIDI Breakout board, 3in / 3out, USB

This MIDI breakout is awesome. Its basic functionality with the provided sketch is what most people would need. With some expansion and minor tweaks, you can make it do a whole lot more!
This is not a consumer product; you must know how to program an Arduino or Teensy to make it useful to you. But that makes it way more fun!
Shipped with a faulty optoisolator, but the seller was quick to make things right.

Good product, vague instructions.

Great product, works exactly how I need it to. I use it to control all of my synths. Managed to put the whole thing together pretty quick. I would consider it a beginner project, except it lacks in the documentation side of things.
The instructions are quite vague and I feel there should be a diagram showing you what to do. I had to look at a picture of the finished project online to help me through it.
The piece of paper with instructions I received did not mention if you get the USB powered version you need to solder pin 1 to pin 3 where there is an empty space. So if you get the usb power version make sure you do this! ;)

I decided to make it rack-mount, so I purchased a blank 1U panel and drilled holes, then mounted 5-pin midi connectors to the front and painted it. I hot-glued the PCB to the back of the panel and now it's quite a nice piece of kit. If you do this, keep in mind MIDI only uses 3 of the 5 pins, so don't bother wiring up all 5. I think just pins 2, 3 and 4 are necessary. With 3 being the shielded ground.

Great price, fun project

For MIDI Thru 1in -> 10out splitter PCB or a Kit

Using this to solve a common problem, syncing all my gear. Midi splitters are kind of expensive and often only 4 ports, so this 10 port splitter for not much dough is a great deal.

Putting it together is fun, but could use some documentation. As a first timer I found the bill of materials barely enough information to put it together. I would have appreciated some hand holding especially with identifying polarity of diodes.

This is a beginner project but does not have beginner guidance.

Overall happy with what I have. Figuring out a case for it is my next goal.
