Cheap and cheerful, fun kit to make

Got a few of these as small gifts for small people. Fun to make, great practise for soldering. My 5 year old Nephew was amazed that music could make lights dance!!

works like a charm

Was my first attempt to solder an smd. With some flux it was not that difficult. Assembled the rest. At powerup It din't work. After debugging found out that de battery contacts weren't making good contact. After cleaning them it worked fine. The radio is very sensative. Better reception than my home stereo. I can recommand this kit

Good little kit

For DIY Red LED Dot Matrix Clock SMD Soldering Kit

Got here pretty quick, all things considered, went together good, though some may need help the instructions and the size of the leds that make it a challenge. Works really well and actually keeps pretty good time which is very unusual clock kits from Asia. I build then throw away most as they can not be used for their intended use. All in all, a good kit. I have purchased a few things from Tindie, and it always been a good experience.

You get what you pay for..

For 6-Digits Red LED Electronic Clock Kits

Great distractions and a nice little built. But don't go into purchasing this if you are after a acurate time piece, or expecting it to work perfectly. I enjoyed building it just like I enjoy building all the other cheap Chinese sourced clocks. It is soldering practice and a little enjoyable electronic distraction.

I did enjoy this kit and it is just as I expected to be.

Fun kit at a great price

For DIY 3D Xmas Tree 7 Color Flash LED Kits(7213)

This is a great kit for moving past basic learn to solder kits since it has lots of led's and resistors to solder as well as a couple of other components. The PCB design is still pretty spacious so it's not too tricky to get all the parts on the boards even without a narrow tip on the soldering iron. I had no issues following the instructions posted online and was able to assemble it correctly the first time.

The tree flashes brightly and makes a nice Xmas decoration and conversation piece.

I had no issues with shipping.

Great product for starting learning about amps and tubes )

For DIY Hybrid Power Amplifier Board LM1875T(12008)

Easy to assemble. Easy to run. Great kit! It's simple and has basic schematics, very adequate cost, however as finished solution it can't drive big headphones (low plate voltage) and big speakers (small radiator), also very sensitive to input voltage, because tube's heating current regulation is done by one resistor only. My 18V transformer outputs 19.3V with 233V from wall socket, and it's too much, resistor heats up to 150 C. Also I missed some not very necessary parts (one terminal, knob, stands...)
And documentation on Chinese? Seriously? Just put it in some translator or publish e-version so buyers can make it by themselves without scanning/photographing papers...

Product is as advertised - shipping faster than anticipated

For 0.91" Inch 128x32 I2C IIC Blue OLED (9934)

I bought 10 of these for a workshop I'm doing. They arrived about 2 weeks earlier than I estimated they would, which is great. I was also impressed with the trackability - I quickly received a tracking number that worked on both the international and the USPS legs of the journey.

The product itself is a commodity OLED screen. I had no issues using the Adafruit ssd1306 library. I also validated that the dimensional drawings are accurate.

Good little soldering kit for flashing light projects...

For Red Blue Flashing Light DIY Kit

Good little soldering kit for flashing light projects. Make sure to fit the LEDs the right way round and the red/blue in the correct groups - I didn't so I had to swap all the reds and the blues. When you test it you need at least 9V, preferably 12V to get it really bright. PCB is ok but not great - it won't take much resoldering - one fix at most per pad. Very good price.

- what voltage range for supply
- what voltage levels are allowed on the IIC lines, in case the supply voltage is 3.3V or 5.0V
- and so on

Had to re-solder the breadboard terminals.

I was a little disappointed with this product. I had to re-solder the breadboard terminals because the blocks were not straight, thus they would not fit into the breadboard. All in all great product for the price. Great low current projects.

Hell of a deal for an 8x8x8 LED cube!

For 3D LightSquared DIY Kit(3531)

Great weekend project. Build instructions are in broken "engrish" and gloss over a lot of details, but the design is so well thought out, you really don't need them (only one value ceramic cap, one value electrolytic cap, and two values of resistors that are obvious which goes where. Breaking down female pin headers for the metal guts is clever, but a bit tedious. Programming pins are presented, as are pads for a couple momentary switches for your hackability pleasure.

I'd call this an intermediate kit to build. LOTS of soldering on both sides and the board is pretty high density with smallish pads. Everything is through-hole though.

Nice little lights

For USB Touch Control Dimmer Lamp LED Light (3856)

These things are bright! In trying figure out the touch sense part I ended up blind for a while. They dim down to a very useable little lamp. It's gonna take some time to figure them out. And some sunglasses. They are very well made and look like they should last for a long while. I have one along with my battery phone charger in my pack. It lights up the inside of my pack very nicely. Pick up several. Give them as gifts. They are really very nice.

cute, but not great.

For Phone Signal Radiation Power DIY(5202)

This was something I ordered to help pay for shipping for a replacement switch on another product. Of course, one of the wire antennas was missing. It calls for 1mm enameled or copper wire (the type you'd find in a usb cable). I hacked up a cable to get the wire & it might work (it didn't with anyone's phone here)... I just figure it's an interesting bit of desktop art...
While it's an easy solder job, it is not what I would call "intro to soldering" type project -- since they say not to cut any of the diode leads, you want them long to act as legs -- this can be tricky w/o a 3rd hand tool.
This is my 2nd (of 3) purchases from them that had poor quality control, although this one was very minor....

A few issues with the LEDs

For Icstation Blackberry Trackball breakout board

Shipping was reasonably quick. Out of the box the trackball itself works fine. I am wondering how strong the glue is; for a project I would sandwich the trackball between panel and the PCB. This board has mounting holes so it should be possible.

However, I had some problems with the indicator LEDs. Blue LED was not lighting up; I found that it was caused by a resistor which was not properly soldered.Luckily it was in a spot where it was easy to improve the joint by hand. Moreover, the silkscreen for red and blue LEDs is the wrong way round.
