I try very hard to support independent manufacturers and honest hardworking sellers who put in the time and effort to create their own projects. This is exactly why when Widgeneering made a stock quantity mistake with my first order that I didn’t request a discounted in the difference owed on my second to rectify the issue. I simply paid a second time knowing full well that I would discard the first product into the trash. However this humbling fact did not stop Widgeneering from completely destroying my faith in support of the little guy.
Firstly, the display bezel’s holes & edge cutting leaves a lot to be desired. A better job could be achieved with thin plastic, scissors and a metal chop stick. Secondly, yet more importantly, after 10 days had passed with no update on my replacement order, I contacted him. Then I contacted him again. And again. And again. And again. And after each time I saw him READ my messages each within a few hours of sending them without any reply, I began to realise this was going to be a very disheartening experience. Of the 7x messages I sent him regarding my replacement order, he replied once to state that he would complete my order within 2 days. Another 4 days passed, more messages ignored before finally cancelling my order all together.
I’m out of pocket from my first mistaken order but most importantly he has really shaken my confidence in trying to help local creators. It’s been an extremely sad and disappointing experience. Please sellers... just communicate with your respective buyers. Most of us are happy to wait weeks, even months, as long as you maintain communication with the individuals who have literally paid you to support your art. Widgeneering... I would still very much appreciate a message from you... you don’t have to leave your customers feeling this way?
